Casual relationships are fine, as long as you can keep them casual, avoid pregnancies, and know when to walk away. The issues really start when you 'upgrade' to co-habitation or start thinking about 'forever'.

I've been monk mode for a while, and not looking, but if I happened to meet someone I liked then I'd consider FwB/something casual. I'd basically want the kind of relationship where the woman asks "so, what exactly are we?" and nothing beyond that.

I stopped. I just put no effort in any more. It’s just too tiring and not worth the effort. I went monk.

And each day it would take a woman with twice as much as the day before for me to even consider dating, much less the interrogation to even consider a couple month lover. I just lost the interest.

It used to be fun, but the amount of work involved to voir dire them isn’t worth the payout.

Sometimes I want to go somewhere I wouldn't want to invite a guy friend or go alone to (museum, gallery, food festival, etc.) and I try to make friends with women that would be interested in doing those things so I have someone to call.

Let me tell you guys something... someone in my family is an older MGTOW who got jaded in his 50s and when he stopped trying with women he also just stopped trying at life altogether. Now the family is his only social circle and he's got a dog to run out the clock with alone.

As much as I like being alone, it's important to always be maintaining a social circle of your own unless you really want to end up spending the last 20+ years without a single real friend you can call on. I'm pretty fucking jaded when it comes to women myself but I'd rather take the small risk of getting fucked over by a familiar FWB for the benefit of a healthy social life than sit there alone at the end with my dick in my hand wonder what the hell I was doing with my life.
