I’m a Vegas veteran. If you like good food that is a great place. Take a helicopter ride to Grand Canyon. Go to Top Golf or take a ride in the High Roller. No need to set foot in a casino and you can still have fun. It is expensive though, but there are deals if you want to dig.

Lots of restaurants that are fun trying, just walking the strip, plenty of shows.

It is fun, max 2 nights though. The Freemont is much more fun that the Strip, in my opinion. Definitely not my favourite place on this planet, but it can be fun. Try to land/get there at night, so you can be fully shocked by the lights.

Food is expensive, ridiculously expensive unless you go the fast food route. I recommend the Heart Attack Grill, because it is just too silly to be true; burgers are decent and not extortionate.

Sleeping may also be expensive, best time to book via the usual websites (booking, trivago, and co) is generally 2 weeks in advance. The Strip is more expensive than Downtown, Downtown has better (more conventional) hotels though. However, if you want to experience Vegas you may want to stay in some luxury (Trump Tower) or super kitsch hotels (Luxor, Excalibur).

Oh, it is in the middle of the desert, so rather cold in winter. I have been there twice in February, it is alright when the sun is out, but at night it gets unbearably cold and windy (and I am used to cold weather).

I've visited it a couple of times. For me it's the highlight of human insanity. The casino's, especially on the Strip seem to compete among each other to be the most total ridiculous thing. Even the gambling seem totally moronic now. Incomprehensible machines where you need to earn "credits" for something I don't grasp? Go F yourself. Last time I was there was in a casino where someone left a take away meal. There where cockroaches nearly 10CM tall feasting of them. I saw gambling addicts squandering away their live savings. The whole scene is loaded with vile greed. Besides the moron casino's there are pawnshops where you can sell things to gamble some more. Las Vegas was the first and only US city where drug dealers openly tried to sell me their stuff. Coming from a quite drug tolerant country that wasn't a big deal for me. I politely turned the man down. But in the US?

To wrap it up for me: I think it's a total garbage show. I don't think I'll ever visit that landfill again. I highly recommend you spend your precious money on another winter trip. I saw Bryce canyon in winter. In summer it's a beauty. But in winter it's unnameably beautiful. Also another advice: Canyon Lands. I never heard of it. But when I visited it I was mesmerized. It got all the beauty of the national parks combined. Except for the hot springs from Yellowstone.

Yes . Go on to the local side . Stay off the strip shits wack . The local side is where all the action is . I get laid every time I go to Vegas and I have never paid for any sex . Las Vegas hands down is the best city in America . To me I feel like u can do whatever u want . I just got back last week and I have family out there . It’s beautiful

Las Vegas is a good starting point for touring the nearby national parks (bring or rent a car). The city itself wasnt for me. It is one street with the casino hotels but behind the hotels is already desert.

I went. It was boring as fuck, gambling is for idiots, and the food was about the same as East Coasts casino buffets.
