I've seen some of their stuff. I'm not a fan. I'd probably agree with /u/OsmiumZulu - there's probably some value in reading alternative viewpoints, even if they're wrong, because you're probably already reading a ton of wrong viewpoints on the other side anyway. Better to balance yourself out if the truth is somewhere in the middle.

It's like saying you're a political moderate, but refusing to watch any news source other than CNN. You claim you can see how liberal it is, and therefore think you're fine. But then you start watching Fox News, which is equally biased and full of holes to the same degree as CNN. Do you reject it because you know some of the content is bad? No. Because realizing WHERE the disagreements actually are gives you a better ability to figure out for yourself what's actually true and not.

The point of reading articles like these isn't to figure out what's true. It's to figure out which issues aren't settled so you can research it for yourself.

The same goes to what you read here too. If your faith is based on what other people tell you about God rather than your own independent ingestion of Scripture, you're a fool. Stop relying so much on articles and keep going back to Scripture.

Another way to think of this: if 0-5 is camp 1 and 5-10 is camp 2 and 5 is actually true, if you're only reading resources from camp 1 and they're all in the 0-1 range and you want to be a 5, you're going to object to some things they say and tell yourself, "I'm clever enough to see through their lies!" But because you only ever see information in the 0-1 range, you'll probably end up being a 2 or 3 and believing you're in camp 2 for being that way. Yes, you're better than the 0-1 sources, but you're still drinking some of the cool-aid. Even if you start reading some 5 resources, you, as a logical person, are going to assume that everyone gets something wrong, so you won't be persuaded 100% exactly to 5 - maybe you'll become a 3 or 4. But balance your 0-1 reading with some 9-10 reading and you'll see just how wrong both sides are, but by recognizing both extremes rather than trying to personally assess out of your own ignorance of what camp 2 says, you'll always end up leaning in favor of the majority of content you read and wind up in camp 1.

Now, on the actual social and spiritual climate we're in, I'd wager 5 isn't actually what's true ... it's probably closer to 6, 7, or even 8. We're just so used to seeing 0-1 from so many congregations that 5 can feel like we've gone far enough, and we assume the "middle" is actually true. But I don't see God being a "God of the middle." He takes strong stands on important issues. Just not always the same stance on the same issues that some people pretend.

I've read a decent amount of the content on that site over the years and would say it is a mixed bag. In general I'd consider it worth reading as it presents alternative perspectives in fairly well thought out ways. As always excercise discernment per Acts 17.

I agree there are some articles where the title has left me wondering, however I've not read them yet so don't know the conclusions he presents.

The articles I've read that are most interesting are the ones on gender roles in marraige, Gods creation of men and women, husbands leading, wives submitting etc.

If you read the below and others on the website you'll see it's very "red pill" yet there is always scripture presented.
