First of all, let me establish the difference between feminism and radical feminism. Feminism has brought much equality to women including women's suffrage; greater access to education; more nearly equitable pay with men; the right to initiate divorce proceedings; the right of women to make individual decisions regarding pregnancy (including access to contraceptives and abortion); and the right to own property.

Radical feminism on the other hand is a perspective within feminism that calls for a radical reordering of society in which male supremacy is eliminated in all social and economic contexts. Recently I noticed the following pattern: when both men and women brought up in conversation that they were feminists, the vast majority of the time they turned out to be radical feminists. If you ever encounter one of these radical feminists, please take the following to heart:

  1. Never engage in debate with them. Your rights end where their emotions begin.

  2. Men who describe themselves as feminists are most likely SJWs and are the most brazen cockblocks. They are usually claiming they are feminists because they believe in the false notion it will get them pussy.

  3. Real feminists don't feel the need to tout the fact they are feminists. It is the radical feminists who do this because they are on a moral and emotional crusade. Stay away from these radical feminists at all costs.

  4. Radical feminists get offended easily. Say anything that triggers them and you risk facing a violent situation. A situation where the woman will get off free by being physically abusive to you but if you lift even a finger in self defense you can expect zero sympathy from others and the full force of the justice system against you.

  5. Radical feminism isn't about equality. It is about bringing men down.

  6. If a woman ever asks you if you are a feminist, this is a red flag she is itching for a debate. Say you believe in equal rights for both men and women, then casually excuse yourself while you place as much distance between the two of you as you can.

  7. Appreciate that feminism is a rich and vibrant topic, filled with progress and success. But today's so-called feminists are usually just upset co-eds who heard something controversial in their gender studies class and feel the need to teach the world about it.

  8. Radical feminism is not empowering. It is destructive. And as soon as you discover someone is a radical feminist, keep yourself away from them. Misery is contagious, and they will bring your life down.

  9. Equal rights is not a zero sum game. Radical feminists will try to convince you otherwise. The truth is more rights for women doesn't take away from the rights men have. Yet radical feminists don't understand this and hold immense vitriol for men.

  10. Most importantly, radical feminists are unpleasant and potentially dangerous to be around. There are plenty of nice women out there who believe in equal rights and don't feel the need to identify themselves as feminists.

Conclusion: This post is neither about convincing you to become a feminist nor telling you to avoid feminism. Do the research and come to an informed position. What this post will do is notify you that people who claim they are feminists usually have no idea what they are talking about and their moral high ground is just not worth your time. So the next time you talk with someone and they feel the need to declare they are a feminist, make a mental note. In most of these situations your best option is to move on.
