I feel you, OP. Here's my story...

Me and an Ex-GF had split up, I wanted a different kind of woman in my life, so friends hooked us up...

She was down to earth, funny, shunned the nightlife, rarely drank, didn't do drugs, paid her way, was a great mom, worked hard, was attractive, hated social media, loved going to bookstores, loved animals, had been hurt bad, and she actually had class and morals (which in this day and age is rare) and we had a ton of shared interests.

You could actually sit with this woman for hours and she wouldn't pick her phone up once (that's worthy of a proposal it's self! Haha). She was refreshing to say the least.

I still think about her from time to time because she was everything that I was looking for (and still am) and really left a big impression on me due to the above listed qualities. I'm in a LTR at the moment, last I heard she had two jobs, I've got plates and there's plenty of fish in the sea, so I try not to think too hard about her! Haha.

Have I fucked 10+ women since our paths crossed? Yes, but she still crosses my mind from time to time.

Oneitis isn't healthy, but it is inevitable.

When you meet a woman who you know is the one that you're looking for and she ticks every box, how can you not put her on a pedestal? They rarely come around (if ever), hence why they leave such an impression on you that you can still think about them years down the line.

Make the most of who you have now and try not to think of her too much, but if the offer appears in the future to make something happen with "the one", and it feels right to you at that time, then grab it with both hands.

Meanwhile, let time heal the wounds, read the sidebar and make sure to create some abundance in your life.
