Humans have been mocking noticeable physical traits since the dawn of time. Not just race and height, either. The "Jewish nose" is a longstanding offensive trope. Jay Leno has a big chin. Arnie has the gap in his teeth. If someone is mocking you for height, it might be because you're an otherwise "flawless" human and that's all they can pinpoint. And don't forget, tall people are mocked for being "gumby" and "lanky" too. I'm not saying it's right to do this, but I'm also highlighting that it's not necessarily true that height is in some special category of extra hate—even if we imagine it is.

Sometimes people target physical features because we don't like a person and it's easy to spot a physical flaw when you nothing else about them (remember how everyone went after Sarah Sanders's weight?).

Some people do it out of their own need to feel superior, there's no denying that. But who gives a fuck about the opinions of people like that?
