The potential earnings is often bullshit. Reality is many are all to happy to sit on their ass and have someone pay for everything. That's exactly what happened in my marriage. About a year in she lost her job, claimed her back still wasn't right after hurting herself (even though she worked part time to that point) and never went back. Anytime I brought it up it became a fight. She had a rich family that helped supplement us and now she's wanting everything and alimony and everything. St very least she could have worked before our first kid and got a year or maternity leave and then went back for a bit and collected another year. That's what most female coworker do. Even her mother started bugging her about when she was gonna get a job
It's like there always this false narrative pushed that the poor women want to work but the big bad husband is saying no.. you take care of the kids and house, you aren't allowed to.. meanwhile I took care of a huge chunk of housework as well

Not midevil enough for such a crime. They should be publicly stoned. And so no one has to live with that on their minds besides those responsible (but let's be real, most would sleep like a baby after), it should be done by the jury, judge and prosecutors that put the man in prison. Of course said man should also recieve all said legal fees he had to pay to begin with, and minimum 5-10 years worth of salary (calculated using at minimum what he was making before incarceration If not substantially more) for each year spent behind bars.
This may sound extreme, but, even worse than murder is taking a humans dignity and freedom (especially eroneously). This is why thousands of people, entire cities even throughout history have committed mass suicide before being captured by the enemy. They'd rather be dead than loose their freedom, and taking that freedom erroneously should be the highest of crimes.

Filing false charges is already a crime, it's just never prosecuted against women. Any DA who charges a woman for false accusations can kiss his entire career goodbye, so nobody touches the real "third rail."
