So I (23F) reconnected with an acquaintance (24M) from high school, we haven’t seen each other since then. I didn’t think our conversation was going to go anywhere but we’ve ended up texting daily for about 3 weeks now. We just bounce off each other so much and it’s been awhile since I’ve had anything like this. We literally talk about anything, and there’s some flirting going on sometimes too. Only problem is he lives on the other side of the country...

(I was seeing someone else for a few months prior to texting this guy but I’ve dropped him now bc I don’t think we’re compatible... and quite frankly am tired of dating apps/swiping mindlessly, so when this acquaintance popped up and we got on so well I was shook. I’m trying to not prematurely jump the gun bc I don’t know how he feels at all! I know better now than to let my feelings get the better of me!)

So just wanted some insight as to whether you all have fallen in love (I’m not in love obvs but feel very attracted to him so far) with someone not in your city & how that worked out. On the whole flirting with someone you aren’t interested in concept (I don’t get this one tbh I couldn’t rly flirt for extended periods with someone I wasn’t remotely interested in pursuing something with at all) & just some advice on what I should do/how to proceed with caution! I’m trying to keep my emotions in check as although I feel like we click really well, I don’t know what will happen and don’t want to end up hurt because of it.
