First off, Im a long time lurker, and Im very happy this sub exists.
The day before Valentine’s Day I had received a text from a guy I dated back in my freshman year of college. Now, Im currently a junior, so I haven’t spoken to this dude for over a year. I deleted him off of snapchat and his number off of my phone back then, but I guess he kept mine.
I showed my friends a snapshot, and they were all shocked. They suggested that I act like this is the wrong number or be hostile, but I felt like that was too much energy. So I never replied and blocked him.
We never reached exclusivity, but this guy was my first experience dating and sexual experience. I didn’t date in high school, and I definitely had some pickme traits that makes me cringe looking back. He left a sour taste about dating after that was done. He had never done anything nice for me, and was disrespectful of my time. Yet he has the audacity to contact me the day before Valentines Day, after having no contact for over a year, asking “how have you been?”
This incident has brought up some anger in me. I’m glad I never had PIV sex with him, and Im happy I had cut him off from my life. I haven’t dated much since then, but Ive made wonderful progress. Im the president of a growing sorority chapter, made more great friends, still pursuing a degree in engineering, and I found out yesterday that I been extended an interview for an internship.
After weeks, month, or years, they always crawl their way back. Just ignore, block, and keep it pushing.
