There’s a big difference between privacy & secrecy. If you’re in a “secret” relationship - understand you’re in NO relationship. Period. Cut that shit out. It just wrecks your self esteem & diminishes your self worth. For what? Exactly.

Privacy = not obsessively post about each other or tell everyone everything that happens in your relationship but people do know and aware that you're in a relationship. His parents and family know you, his friends know you and your friends know him. He posts about you on social media every once in a while to keep it updated and show that he's still dating you.

Secrecy = no one knows you're in a relationship except for him, you and 1 or 2 of your friends (and you told them to keep it a secret too so your 'boyfriend' won't get mad). If it's a secret relationship he will never post about you, his Facebook status will stay as single, he will refer to you as his 'friend' and you will never get to meet his family.
