I’ve messaged modmail to let team know it’s no longer private, none of the mods have been active in months publicly or have wiped their accounts so they might not be aware. It might have been acquired via r/redditrequest possibly by the last mods on the list but I’m not sure

Waiting for a mod announcement now, what an interesting development…

You tell them ‘I only want to be intimate with someone I am dating and whom has had a recent, extensive STD panel done’ Ideally they are bringing this up proactively when you are discussing exclusivity and sexual intimacy.

I cackled so loud at this that I had to then share to five different people at work who kept asking wtf was so funny. Fucking brilliant 👌🏻

Not even so much finding the person - it sounds rude but people and relationship partners are all pretty interchangeable. What you aim to find is the connection and interactions that suit you and your needs within a relationship. And if those aren’t fulfilled then that person is not your person.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/02/22 03:35 AM

At this point, everything about my partner - his actions, his values and his behaviour over the past two years has indicated to me he is a HVM and that it is a core part of his own self-satisfaction to be one. The way he treats me is always that I am a/the HVW in his life. I’ve never had to ask, push or ‘communicate’ for anything I need, he just continues to be a wonderful partner and a spectacular human being.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/02/22 12:41 AM
17

True words right here. Hopefully she sticks with the treatment and doesn’t play games with her health to win him back.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/02/22 07:29 PM
27

I can understand his stress over the situation, yes it IS stressful for your partner to find out they have cancer. But you don’t fucking ghost your wife when she’s sick, fucking vile.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/02/22 07:28 PM
13

I’m so sorry to hear she went through this, that sounds like a truly horrible experience, what a vile man.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/02/22 07:27 PM

I would be mortified and outraged if my partner did this to me. This is the opposite of supporting someone’s achievements, by having to make it all about you or ‘the two of you’. Just let her have her fucking moment to enjoy the attention and praise for a job well done.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 10:02 PM

What a quote: For these shall forever be remembered as the Games of horrifying publicly-sanctioned entrapment under the guise of romance. Ie. the public marriage proposal.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:35 PM
12

And the boyfriend said if she had won then he was going to wait to propose! So he made himself the prize because she lost? But if she won she would have been too good to marry yet?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:34 PM
6

She did accept
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:32 PM
8

It frustrates me so much, why not do this back at the athletes village after the cameras are off? Because it’s not about her; or them; it’s about the public seeing it, for his validation.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:32 PM
24

That’s even more gross. Only planning to propose if she lost? But if she won he would wait? Talk about considering yourself the prize. Marriage > personal achievements. Doubt.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:30 PM
11

Can’t get more low effort that that.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:29 PM

In that situation she would be the worlds biggest asshole and not him for putting her on the spot while interrupted an amazing life moment of her own merit.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:29 PM
3

She said yes to him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:28 PM

That’s so much worse now. I don’t like anything about this situation whatsoever the more I learn about the backstory.

High doubt, he’s also her professional coach. I can’t say I know the circumstances of their relationship at all. But this moment snapshotted in time tells me about his ego in needing to take the focus off her.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:26 PM
8

This proposal is cringe - it takes her out of the spotlight, moving the focus of a very important moment onto him, it’s manipulative, it’s low effort. I hate everything about it.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:25 PM
7

I blame Hollywood and western media with those over the top scenes romantic of acts of grandeur and draw out monologues professing love… but that’s not reality and that’s not what most women would enjoy happening to them.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:23 PM
7

I hate that it takes the limelight away from someone in their professional moment of achievement. You could literally propose any other time - within the many years you have been together - and you chose NOW?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:22 PM
6

He’s also her coach, so it’s a professional and personal relationship entwined.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:20 PM
6

And right in the middle of an interview all about your personal achievements - he’s also her coach so not only is it inconsiderate but it also feels very unprofessional that he really needed to make it all about him in the moment.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/07/21 07:20 PM

I’m just so annoyed with him doing it publicly like this, in a moment that should be solely for her and about her.

Reframe the ‘obsessing over flags’ to ‘confidently filtering’. Those flags you encounter allow you to decide who you allow to have access to you. You’re an important person with previous time and energy resources - and you no longer waste either on people you aren’t compatible with. It’ll all become more second nature the longer you practice the principles. The other thing I see here is some self confidence issues (waiting for shaming language). Definitely something to work on for yourself - cha…

Go by his actions, not other people’s words. If he’s not showing you behaviour that he’s cheating then just keep vetting and vetting. As for social media, my partner and I don’t share each other or our relationship at all. We actually don’t share our individual personal lives on there either. Social media isn’t real life.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy17/06/21 04:07 AM
22

There is nothing wrong with not wanting to be on social media in this - or any - regard. Tell him Instagram is a no go, there is no need to share on there with complete strangers seeing intimate details of your lives. Your relationship is for you to enjoy, not the greater public.

John Hughes was the screenwriter - but the character was written to be a villain and of course a woman being career focussed and anti-marriage is an evil trait.

Dip the earrings in petroleum jelly before inserting - a fucking lifesaver for someone who always had allergies to cheap earrings. The petroleum jelly act as a barrier and now I can leave the same set in for a month or longer if I really want to.

Cute relationship date for sure - my partner and I just did this for Melbourne Cup day this week. Sandwiches, charcuterie board and salad and headed to the local nature reserve for a few hours. We had a gorgeously relaxing day in the sunshine and then hit the beach for a bit. We tried to get in for a drink at a couple of venues on the way back but everything was fully booked (we’ve just come out of lockdown here). So then we headed back to my place for a movie and we cooked up a roast for dinner…

Personally I don’t regularly say thank you in response to a complement (words), usually only to thoughtful actions or to convey appreciation in order to reward a desired behaviour. Compliments can be cheap talk and rarely genuine when given by strangers - I will generally reply with something along the lines of ‘that’s lovely of you to say’ or ‘I agree, I love [subject of compliment] too!’ Edit: a word

I always take that kind of language as a red flag that they are using you for emotional labour. I used to have a boyfriend who would be angry/upset/stressed and ask to see me as it would ‘calm him down’ or ‘make him feel better’. How about you calm down and make yourself feel better and then you can come and see me? It’s like the men who say ‘you make me happy’ - ahhh that’s literally your job to make yourself happy. You do you, I do me and then we both come together and happy, healthy, whole pe…

Ok so let me list everything that would worry me if I was in your position: Long distance - very hard to build a connection when you physically cannot spend time together between meetings Effort - why is if your job to go to him - little effort in his part, he can fly to see you if he really wants to get to know you Money - large potential financial output on your part (accomodation and possibly airfare) on the slim chance you hit it off and want to take things further Safety issues - you will b…

I’ve been dating someone for six months now and we are at the stage where I spend most weekends at his house (not mine as I like to keep my space just for me). It’s been a tricky situation as we are in stage four lockdown here and cannot go outside except for shopping (one person, one time per day) or one hour outdoor exercise (thankfully allowed to do this one together). This has been the case for three weeks, and is ongoing for at least another three weeks, with four more weeks of slightly les…

(Fortunately, I see an end date in sight for where I live since our curve has flattened and they’re declaring tentative success. Maybe within the next two months.) That’s fantastic to hear, I wish it was as clear here atm 🤞🏻 a return to normalcy is on the way

They are definitely maintaining contact and showing you interest, but I’ll have to agree to disagree that this is ‘dating’ in the truest sense. What they have shown is that their priorities are with their families and I think that’s awesome to see in each instance. I would include the kind of contact you have described as examples of the pausing of dating, while leaving the window open to continue and pick things up later. It’s not dissimilar to a long distance dating - which I am personally not…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy31/03/20 09:36 AM

Not that ’it doesn’t have anything’ on it, but that a HVM will be taking the current circumstances seriously and be prioritising his a) health, b) financial circumstances, c) family connections during these very uncertain times. If he’s prioritising dating then he has issues with needing attention/validation or poor short and long term planning capabilities. This is a period of hibernation - forced introspection and slowing down to focus on our own needs.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy31/03/20 08:43 AM
13

Biggest HV trait in my opinion - is that he is not looking to date right now. Using this time to improve himself and his circumstances. Depending where you are (Australia here), we have social distancing guidelines up until June 2020. If he’s really high value he’ll understand that dating is not a priority/possibility right now and pause things until a meaningful connection can be established and maintained.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy31/03/20 07:34 AM
34

So, reading between the lines - and fuck me is he verbose jeeeeez: ‘He’s not interested’ That’s really all he needed to say. Block and delete. No need to respond or banter with him about it. Also don’t allow yourself to be in casual dating situations in the first place. That’s too low value for you and he just went along for the ride until he got bored. Covid19 is a great time to pause dating and let these idiots weed themselves out of the dating pool.

The majority of my friends are men, and it’s always been that way. A lot of my hobbies are usually more popular with men and so I have lots of face-to-face and online contact with men more than women. Of all these male friends, I dated one for several years (defacto relationship) and eventually we found out that a friendship connection was better for us. He was my partner and when it became platonic it then transformed into him being my family instead.

It sounds like the mindset hasn’t been fully replaced by more a more productive and healthy one yet. So make the choice to have a healthy and respectful interaction and tell yourself now that sex is off the table completely.

You’re going on a trail walk - how has you mind jumped to her wanting to have sex today? Oblige her? Cancel the date and get your mind in order.

And this is why I keep a ‘red flags’ list in my iPhone Notes app. I actually often type into it right in the middle of the date when something questionable pops up that I might gloss over otherwise. Mask it as having to check my phone as I’m on call for work. Write down that ’moved back home with mum and dad’ or ‘thinks anime is really cool’. Get out of the date, go home, read the note with a clear head.

Yeah the motives are definitely off, he’s had a week to say why he wants to meet up and a week to tell me directly he’s dating someone. That hasn’t happened and instead during that time he’s told me he’s been thinking of me and texting me with his pet name for me. It’s all just rotten and I want no part of it. It just solidifies that he’s not well and he has a whole lot more healing to do. I was very right to break up with him months ago. Thank you!

I adore my food scales, they certainly get a workout at my house haha I love that you hand write it too, pen and paper has a certain energy to it I believe. It’s like journalling, vs typing. There is power to it in making things a habit when you write it down. As for the subs I ended up leaving most of the progress ones now and follow most of the low-calorie food subs instead - r/1200IsPlenty and r/1500isplenty as well as /r/1200isJerky for a laugh when I need one

Agreed, he’s very obviously a serial-monogamist who judges his self worth by being attached to someone. And that’s just not a heathy way to approach relationships at all.

I will never allow myself to play therapist ever again. Exactly, your time and energy is too precious for a project-person. As for the ‘I never meant to hurt your feelings’ - any time someone says anything along those lines it’s just totally bull shit, they knew what they were doing I don’t want to hurt you - ‘but I will, I just don’t want to’ I never meant to hurt you - ‘but I didn’t nothing to stop it happening’ I’ll never hurt you - ‘if I say it enough times I’ll believe it, until it’s not tr…

Thank you! I’ve woken up feeling much better about it all today, once the fog of emotions lift it’s so much easier to see again. And this is why I love posting here, your insight lifts up a little veil to see something I missed. He’s a serial-monogamist, he can’t be alone as he sees his worth in being someone’s partner. He chooses women who aren’t suitable for him (cheaters, high drama women) and he love bombs anyone who shows interest in him. I remember him telling me I was ‘hard to gauge’ emot…

It’s so very similar to that tweet! I was very happy when he was entering therapy - he acknowledged he needed help and he sought it thank goodness. I’m no ones therapist and I was about to type ‘looks like the therapy worked quickly’, but I don’t actually believe that when I look at his pattern of behaviour. And I’m so sorry to hear about your past situation, that sounds so hurtful and frustrating. Some guys just have no respect whatsoever - what a horrible person he was to drag you through that…

I don’t know why you’d be upset over an idiot who’s so obviously confused Absolutely true, it’s not rational to be angered by this at all. And a lot of that has already worn off after writing out this post and going for a long walk thankfully. Consider him written off, I’m so annoyed right now that he’s now blocked everywhere I can think of and couldn’t reach me unless he physically turned up at my door - which I don’t wish for or expect. Thank you for your bluntness, i really appreciate it.

Thank you, this was really helpful to read. If I’m completely honest, I don’t think he’ll ever get over his wife. They were together for 22 years, childhood sweethearts, and since then he’s a fucking mess emotionally. But this feels more like a pattern of artificially inflating his feelings toward someone, and then those big empty feelings deflate when reality sets in, he bails I think you put this beautifully and thank you for the very kind words. You reached into my mind and collected the words and emotions I couldn’t find right now. It’s exactly what it is. Thank you so much 💓 he was telling you, without hesitation, exactly what he ended up doing Anytime someone warns you they will do something wrong, you always have to believe it’s coming. I totally believe that. And I saw the unintentional love bombing after the fact, he falls hard and he freaks out about it. As for the unfaithful bit, one of his great qualities is he only desires long, monogamous relationships with people. He’s been hurt deeply by a cheating wife and a cheating ex, so at least t…

Thank you so much for your comment, I feel ridiculous for being so worked up about this and your response has made me feel like it’s ok for me to feel like this even though I feel irrational. You’re right that ‘this wasn’t it’, which is why I was breaking up with him in the first place really. The point of the date is indeed for him to take you out and have a good time - if only one of you was going to enjoy it then it’s just an obligation for the other person. He just wanted a game buddy.

I would do it on the phone, but if he’s away and you won’t see him then drop it by text and let him process it ‘[FWB], I’ve been thinking about what I’m looking for and I’ve decided that what I really want is to find a serious relationship. Ok, so I do like that he invited you to join him to enjoy a passion he has. But, after turning it down I certainly don’t agree with him putting the onus on you to forfeit your time and then make additional plans. If I invite someone out and they aren’t into it I would be coming up with an idea that everyone enjoys. I don’t force the other person to do something they won’t be into just so I get everything I want.

I’m at the point now I go on OLD just when I want to feel angry as these bios really do piss me off: no photos photos where face is covered all their photos have a hat all their photos are group photos (which fucking person are you????) photos with women, photos with kids no full body photos no bio bio says ‘just ask me’ talking about sex, wanting it, how good they are at it, how they want to ‘please a good woman’ bios talks ab…

Ding ding ding! We have a winner! OP, never mind that he slid into your DMs on Facebook through mutual friends - how many other 20yr women do you think he went through until you responded favourably to his predatory behaviour?

It’s a hard situation for sure, especially if there is a component of anxiety as well as a result. I would suggest working with a therapist regarding the control issues, as this will help with those feelings of being overwhelmed with fear of not having control.

Personally I think it’s because all guys are weird - they are all just different brands of weird. The LVM, the HVM, they all have something. Other than that I think we all attract what we are putting out for some degree. What kind of man are you looking for; how do you vet for the ones you don’t want?

I understand, we all have behaviours and traits that have become ingrained from our upbringing and environment - whether they serve us or cause harm is another thing. Is it something you’re willing to work on and change? You recognise it’s an issue and I’d guess it could possibly be affecting other parts of your life too?

Maybe it’s time to consciously choose to relax and let someone else take the wheel - let them plan and execute something fun for you to do together and just be excited by it. Part of being in a relationship is creating space for another person to come into your life - if you are too rigid and controlling of the pattern and routine you don’t have room for them to come in. Let them take control and show you what they are capable of. If they are really a HVM then they will enjoy planning and treati…

I really want to message them and tell them: Your audience is adult women, we fucking know sex exists, you don’t have to keep plastering it all over your fucking bio. We know you think with your dick 99% of the time, you don’t have to keep talking about it! Bonus: while typing this comment reply at the bus stop a gross dude just got me to remove my headphones and told me I look pretty.... I can’t even get it this today.

Oh god.. my count of fuck boy blocks? No way to tally that up the way I sort through suitors 😂 Now that I’m writing dating recaps I’ll attempt to start counting it 2020, I actually think it will be empowering to see how many good choices I make. Sorting through them for my diamond in the rough 💎

I snorted when I got to ‘allergic to condoms’ 😂 What a fucking surprise! Can I tell you, the only man I’ve ever met who was actually allergic to condoms went out of his way to special order the lamb skin ones and never once complained about it or saw it as an issue. Even putting the word ‘condoms’ on a dating profile is almost vomit-inducing.

We’ve all fallen into that trap of liking the potential of the person and not seeing them for who they actually are, and it really sucks at the time. Keep talking to others and just focus on detaching emotionally about the outcome, you can’t force something to happen.

I reckon selfie stick and whoever first received this image saw a lotttt more originally. Guaranteed it was a full body & dick pic that’s been cropped to be more ‘appropriate’, ick. And unfortunately the shower pics are pretty common, followed by the shirtless in bed photos, double ew 🤢

Flip it around and think if it was you in his shoes - if you’re interested in the woman you would keep pursuing, texting, calling, bringing your energy towards her on an ongoing basis. He’s putting you into a holding pattern and he’s on OLD looking for other people to talk to. Next him and get a rotation of men going to take your focus off him, see who rises above his level of effort so you can see the difference between what you’re experiencing and what you deserve
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/12/19 10:28 AM

Shower selfies are the dick pics of OLD profile photos. Put your damn clothes on, I don’t want to even think about the possibility of you being naked let alone seeing it as your first impression to me. Kudos to him for throwing all the red flags straight up though; OLD is a weird place in that people can be so brutally honest about themselves sometimes 😂

Do not engage with newly separated or single men Absolutely agree. They do not know what they want, they freak out no matter what kind of relationship they fall into straight after the separation. You become the stop gap while they figure out what they are doing.

I think that’s the best part of it, not only does he want her there for two occasions (before work and again in the morning) but obviously no mention of actually sleeping there. If some poor woman agreed to this situation she’s not even slightly considered sleepover worthy. Tossed out and then called back like ordering hotel overnight dry cleaning services.

Very disrespectful, if he was having an issue with paying he should: not invite me out to dinner, especially to an expensive restaurant where you insist on three courses and wine, and don’t not have a conversation about who is paying and then dick around in front of the staff when the bill comes If I am having a tight money week I don’t make plans, simple. Don’t overbook yourself - time wise, energy wise or money wise.

Ryan’s on the fade right now for sure. I’m not 100% sure if it was manipulation either, it felt like he was just expecting to split it and then he got flustered when I was standing behind him waiting for him to sort it out. I would have had more respect in this situation if he just asked or announced he wanted to split. Use your words! Instead he made it a whole situation where he forced me to rescue him and therefore put himself in the friend basket. Very ungentlemanly.

The Hinge Collective ™️ It’s like a swirl of same-same men with no standout features, who may just be copy-pasting the convo as they all follow the same formulaic q&a. Well except maybe for this gem who proceeded to tell me I didn’t really like sci-fi and futurism and should delete that from my profile if I didn’t resonate with what he was asking. I’m just glad you enjoy it 🙂 Ryan’s inability to pay the bill or speak up about wanting to split it frustrates me. I always carry cash on me so I’m not caught out when the situation arises but I also don’t want to set a precedent of showing my time isn’t valuable. When it was time to go he didn’t even request the bill, he went straight to the servers table - so no chance for the gesture of him just putting his CC or money in the folder. Partially disagree - I’m very open in telling men straight up what I want - verbally and on my dating profile. As I don’t want to spend days-weeks-months figuring out that we don’t want the same thing. Telling them what I am available for and not available for allows them to know I’m not going to be putting out and if they are not serious then they are done. Always better to get those red flags out of the way early I say! Polite and thoroughly annoyed and then a satisfied deep breath before deleting his message history and phone number and then blocking altogether. As for the miscommunicating message I asked what he was talking about as he was trying to talk over my stated preferences. Fun fact, two years ago I went on a second date with someone I really liked who sneakily turned it into a shopping date for his kids as he had to get something last minute- he was frazzled and it was a disaster and I left him at the centre before we even made it to dinner afterwards. I often look for people who live closer to my area for dating (as I love where I live and I plan to stay in this area forever if possible). I’m not saying he did the right thing - a man pulls that shit to me and I’m out the door before he can even finish the sentence! I’ve got zero tolerance for that polyamory bull shit. And I’m not saying she’s the bad guy in this situation - he very obviously is. I’m saying that her participation in this scenario doesn’t make her a good guy. Honestly any woman who even tries to indulge her partner in allowing him to fuck other people is a desperate pick-me, as what HVW would entertain that idea? T…

Total douchebag, who in their right mind thinks that’s these two statements fit side by side. It honestly looks like they were both looking for the green light to cheat and he didn’t reply expect it to go the way it did AT ALL

There’s always details left out, all we know from that post is that he’s disgusting for suggesting they become polyamorous and she’s disgusting for surprising him with that impromptu group sex session. Neither of them are HV people at all

Cheating as in making out with the guy right in front of him without his permission? I get what you’re saying about suggesting polyamoury and then being a hypocrite about being upset, what I’m saying is they are both totally shitty people.

Great decision 👍🏻 even if there was some kind of situation he was legitimately wanting to remove himself from, it’s never your job to wait around patiently

Nothing to suspect or ponder on here - the complication is that he’s a scumbag who’s looking to cheat. He’s either single and ready to mingle, or he’s got someone who considers he’s their boyfriend/partner. There’s not really an in between to consider. And why would you want to wait for him to ‘uncomplicate things’, he’s a man and men do what they want to do. If he wanted to be uncomplicated then he would be. Don’t tell him you can’t be friends, that’s a waste of your precious energy. Just block…

Absolutely true - it’s about priorities When you’re putting yourself out to date someone I believe you have to be able to make room in your life for that potential person to come in to it That chair bang smack as the centre of your home is not an invitation to a potential romantic relationship. It shows that you are in a different headspace and your priorities for money are probably very, very different to mine. Buhbye 👋

My new No. 1 in the dating rotation is a man who asked me out and then set the time and the place in a ten minute time span. When the original plans fell through (overbooked) he had the new venue organised without an hour after calling several restaurants to secure a table. During the date he wasn’t wishy washy about his intentions either - he wants only a serious relationship and then immediately requested a second date for this coming Thursday which I accepted this morning. He has also asked p…

I was chatting with a guy who’s recently bought and moved into his new house - I may have noped out on him instantly when he mentioned having just ordered one of these one of these for pride of place in his living room. I’m a video gamer in my downtime, but this was just a big fat red flag for me if this was his vision for the home he eventually wanted to bring a partner into.

You’ve made the right choice - and I was especially triggered by him kicking the dog out! I would react the same way, my dogs are like my family and they bring my great comfort by sleeping in the room with me. He doesn’t like it? He’s gone!

Preach! If only men put in as much work and actually lived up the standards we value so much. It sounds like a lot of things when you list them here, but it’s just basic self care and they can’t even manage half of it! Onwards and upwards from this dude 😁

I’m 36 and play video games as one of my favourite hobbies, I love the escapism in the same way as watching a movie or reading a book. I saw a lot in your post that I would agree he needs to work on, and I don’t agree that he should be playing them wrote going to bed with you - but saying his hobby specifically makes him a loser was rather iffy and judgemental even for me.

That sub is such an echo chamber, they all just tell each other to rationalise and accept the shitty behaviour Rarely someone will suggest counselling - which has it merits - but not when someone has cheated or they don’t want help for their depraved behaviour. It’ll just be a coping mechanism until the next blow up

I’m not sure if this is the place for me but I need to talk to someone. My boyfriend and I have been together for 16 years. In the early years of our relationship, he did some hurtful things like texting sexy pictures with another girl. He apologized, admitted that it was stupid and we were young so I let it go. He has not and does not do anything like that anymore. He’s actually been wonderful for the last 7-10 years of our relationship. However, I ended up snooping through his phone not too lo…

I had a pleasant afternoon and met a new person. Whether or not he likes me is his own issue. I like myself. Couldn’t have said it better myself. The best feeling after a date is this sort of content detachment. You went out, you had a good time and you don’t attach any of emotional outcomes to it - you just go along with your life as normal. Glad you had fun OP!

It must be a guy thing to just never delete people from their list - I remember scrolling through an ex’s phone and he upwards of 200 people going back to high school, while I have a tight 20-30 of people I actually need to talk to. While the high school one sounds like a no-go, it sounds like the other two could be fun if you get what you want out of the situation 🙂

This is the third repeat-vanisher to pop up this week. It happens like clockwork this time of year, every year as everyone starts to panic about spending the holidays alone. They aren’t thinking about you, they aren’t wanting to step up for you, they are just bored and lonely. I originally stopped talking to this guy after he disappeared for two weeks, a week or so after a first date. I’ve met a few HVM on OKCupid, one of which I dated for a few months last year. We chatted for a week on app, moved to texting and went out for a 5-6 dinner and movie dates before deciding we wanted to be exclusive. He was courteous and an absolute gentleman, passionate about his work and friends/family relationships and he encouraged me to set the pace for everything. It didn’t work out, but these things happen unfortunately.

He ripped his head so far back for the photo that the hairline fell right off his head It’s like hatfishing, but just with camera angles. The Schrondinger’s cat effect for hair - it both exists and doesn’t exist unless you see the truth yourself

I dunno, I like the look of a man that could snap at any time and punch a hole in the wall if I say the wrong thing /s And have to say the best thing about OLD is the amount of men who are brutally honest and allow me to discount them immediately. Thank you kind sirs 😉

I go full scorched earth - block and delete, and treat it like they never existed. Every time they happen to creep into my mind space you have to force yourself to focus on a competing thought that makes you feel better. My competing thought is to think about my sweet little dog and how appreciative I am that I get to love him and take care of him. Eventually it becomes easier to mentally revise the time of your life they were present in so you question if they actually existed or not.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/12/19 07:14 AM

Oh no no no. That breaks my heart to read, no one owes another person their time or energy, let alone their body in the most intimate way possible. I hope you were able to snap her back to reality 🤞🏻 he needs the good old block-and-delete combo immediately

Agree with you, a lot of this is early getting to know convos atm and I’m not into continual all day texting/talking as I have a busy job. Generally over the space of a week or two I usually know all I need and then a hard decision made - we meet or I say goodbye and delete. Then on to talking to new people.

The motivation comes and goes. I was in a short relationship with a wonderful man up until three months ago, and I took a long break to just reset after that as I was tired Got the urge to meet some new people again, and I’ll do that until a strong connection forms with someone; or the desire fades away and I just want more alone time again Agreed about the insight into the male psyche, but it batters you down to have to deal with so many weirdos and sift through them all

Not sleeping with anyone, never outside of a committed relationship and I tell everyone that up front or ASAP when the conversation comes up. If I was at the point where one person stepped forward and wanted to make things official, everyone else would get the ‘goodbye and thank you for your company’ talk This is just the getting to know someone stage of dating

All of these examples just make me question why women sleep with men they don’t even like? Like you knew he was a fuck boy or better as a friend, why not just get cosy in bed and get out your favourite toy and get a guaranteed orgasm and not have the drama? Men have to earn the keys to the castle. Stop fucking then if they aren’t worth it. I don’t care how hot they are or how hide them seem or how much they plead for it. Don’t have sex with them until it’s worth it for you.

I feel fucking embarrassed on his behalf - he organised a date with you, he knew you were going to meet him, put your side of the effort in. He knew you were going to dress up, put your best self forward... and he turned up like THAT? What a fucking twit. He’s either stupid, naive, or has some real big dick energy going on. Sorry he wasted your time 😕

It’s like we have to be meek and warm and friendly 24/7, but smiling is not my default setting I’m sorry, especially if I’m focusing on something (like work). We’re not little stepford wives made for their enjoyment. It’s something so mild in terms of the catcalling I’ve experience, but it enraged me more that day than other things that have been called out to me.

That’s it, who are you to deserve a smile from me? Friends and family and friendly customers get to see this dazzler, not you mate. And that’s so rude! She’s there to do a very important job, not to entertain people argh 😖

Maybe I’ll start commenting on all the men I see ‘Why don’t you go the gym?’ ‘Pulling your pants up would make you more attractive!’ ‘Stop leering at me, it’s creepy’ And that’s very creepy of the coworker; it reminds me that we’ve recently stopped wearing uniform at work and it’s neat casual now so I’ve been having fun dressing up. But it’s for ME and while I get some lovely compliments from women coworkers and customers, it’s always the guys that have to be weird about it with some of the comm…

I don’t know if it made me feel better, I’m still angry now when I think about it, but I just couldn’t ignore it that day as my filter was all worn down. Who does he think that’s he’s entitled to say that to me, or entitled to my smile? As for work I go the opposite route and I’m extra nice and polite and ask condescending and clarifying questions back at the nasty ones until they feel bad and apologise in front of other people their behaviour finally.

It’s a food date, we’re having lunch together on Sunday at a cafe in my area
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/11/19 06:51 PM

Besides the fact that he’s obvious to the existence of cafes, there’s a lot of common interests around art and creative hobbies that we’ve been connecting over. He’s been slow to want to meet up in general, and he’s displayed saposexual tendencies in how he talks about approaching relationships. I don’t think it’ll be a disaster but I am wondering how our texting and phone chats will translate to an in person connection as I prefer a man who can take charge and don’t see it here.

Previous to this screenshot this guy had suggested going for ‘a walk’ as a first date and I corrected that I go for a walk with my dogs and we would be going out for a meal if he wants to take me out. So I’ve so far communicated two standards and I’m now fully done nudging this person along. Happy to report that after this convo he’s sent a couple of messages to set up concrete plans. We have a date, a time and he’s actually called the place to make a booking 👍🏻

You might not have any qualms about asking first, but wouldn’t you prefer he enthusiastically ask to see you again? Text him the pleasantries of letting him know you had a great time and let him come and ask you out again. No need to play games, but let yourself be a little detached and get out of your head a little and let it happen organically. No need to push it along

Edit: I noticed from another comment of yours that he has paid every date so far, my sincere apologies, the wording in your post made it sound like he was saying HE should pay next time, not you. That changes the story quite a bit and you’re fine I think. Definitely need to work more on getting concrete plans though as that stuff would annoy the crap out of me. As much as I like bitching about this stuff, I know it doesn’t serve me. I think it comes in waves, in the moment I feel so infuriated that I save it like a lesson to myself of what I will not put up with. Like it’s so incredulous that I need to preserve the moment to prove it existed. Eventually I come across it later and just swipe into the trash as the lesson has already been ingrained like five minutes after I’ve been triggered lol 😂

Oh oh oh, I forgot, In his survey questions he’s ‘never gotten an STD test’ errrrrgh I feel like these profiles can’t possibly work, as it is I already trash any profiles that state ‘hookups’ it ‘open to non-monogamy’ in sight, and at least 50% of those dudes ARE attractive so they are probably having some response out there. But if you’re out of shape, unattractive AND all you have to offer is free dick, then you had better sell it to me as some kind of magical party penis or wtf are you doing …

I should say that putting it straight into your bio is a fantastic way of getting comfortable with stating your boundaries. Now there’s always the guy who tells me ‘oh I didn’t read your bio’, and it becomes evident allll the time when he’s asking questions on stuff I’ve covered extensively in my bio and survey questions. Well he’s just outed himself as a LVM if he swiped me just on looks and didn’t even use his basic comprehension skills to learn anything about me so he gets Nexted and goodbye.

No the men just need loving and for us to open our heart centres and let them in, that’s all they want so just give it to them and we’ll all be happy and roses and birds singing and rainbows 🌈 😃 💐 They all in one way or another focus on ‘getting the man’, or ‘getting your ex back’ and it’s very destructive to a susceptible person. Someone who might really need to level up and actually look after themselves but instead point all that energy in ‘getting’ something from another person.

I had this video come up on auto play by Helena Hart and Adrienne Everheart the other day while I was doing some house chores and it was a mixed bag in terms of the content. They talked a lot about having firm boundaries and knowing your worth, how women do the emotional labour for men, yes yes good good yes yes. Then they started talking about submitting to your man and allowing yourself to let him be in charge by connecting to his heart and it was all just a pile of flowery rubbish. There was …

“But what about my needs??” allllll the time. Yes sex is part of it in a relationship, but if they stopped watching porn they might actually enjoy real touch/intimacy in a healthy way. Instead they actively ask for the above acts you mentioned, but not even from a gf/wife. Men will ask complete strangers (like me) if they do those things, before even meeting. Their minds are so fucking warped.

I’m in agreement with you on so many of these points, and I find that the apps are an extension of the trends happening in dating because of the internet age. It’s a case of finding a diamond in the rough, sweeping through dozens of people to find one genuine man who isn’t caught up in the porn-centric dating view thinking he’s gods gift to women and we should be chasing and worshipping his dick simply because it exists. The internet and dating apps have allowed the very unhinged and depraved ac…

Must have been - and while I want to see the guy step up and invest when he takes me out - I am aware that it won’t always happen, so I always have cash on me if I need to pay. This happened the moment the cheque hit the table though, so even if I was the type of girl to offer, I didn’t even get a chance for the wallet- reach. He just jumped straight into the absurd rant about expectations to pay and timeframes of being bought things as his GF.

OKCupid - generally speaking I enjoy using this one the best when I get the urge for a bout of OLD disappointment (lol). The profiles are usually very detailed (if someone chooses to fill them out), and there are additional survey questions to answer that help you connect with likeminded people. It means you can very easily ‘next’ someone with no bio, no similar interests, only wanting hookups/casual.

It came out of nowhere, having a great meal and easy conversation, we were getting along great. The date started to meter out so I suggested we should head off as it was getting into the uncomfortable silences. He asked for the bill and then just started whinging about what I said above. I think I laughed almost in horror at the way he worded it. Took the bill off the table and went to the bar to pay my order specifically while he trailed slowly behind me.

Sums it up so succinctly - if they want you then they are already there with you. I have a recent ex where our breakup happened as he really wasn’t over the pain of the breakup with his ex-wife and therefore was honest that he wasn’t ready for the serious relationship he thought he wanted again. We parted on very good terms but I was adamant I wasn’t going to be friends with him (his suggested) and I went dark mode no contact. in my experience it just becomes scaffolding for them to hang up their bouquets of bullshit I love this analogy so much! I think I’ve come along the opposite path to you, mostly because I spent so many years expecting guys would show me their truth with their actions and I was a total doormat because of it. In my mid 30’s I finally found my big-girl voice and I started to really enjoy using it and pushing back on guys. I’ll take your approach into mind too and see if find my comfortable middle g…

I do agree with this too, absolutely. In this example, the fact that he ignored the return serve of his question when I told him I’m looking for a relationship was very telling. I asked in plain English and he continued onto a different thread of conversation we had been involved in instantly. I still make sure to ask though, whether they react favourably to my answer or not, I like to have it verbalised to me so I know I’ve read it, heard it, processed it. They may love mystery, but I hate bull…

It’s just so inappropriate. I figure if they are talking like that to a complete stranger then they pretty much only think with their dick 24/7

So true. Now he’s gotta recalibrate the getting-into-panties protocol. There is never anything lost by asking what they want, I with everyone wasn’t so scared of the question

No response yet, but I love to ask clarifying questions when they beat around the bush. The way I read it is first half: what they want me to hear and respond to second half: what they really want and bury it at the end as the big BUT this is what they are really after

It’s not that there is anything wrong with this guy, and I appreciate him being honest (even though he ignored the return question a few days ago after he asked me what I’m after and I told him). The start of his answer is wishy washy but optimistic, but the second half is much more clear. He’d brought up sexual talk twice earlier under the guise of ‘being cheeky’ and I had shut it down. The fact that it came up a third time within this answer tells me just about everything I need to know. I cou…

Completely agree with you. I’m of the mindset that if you can’t afford to actually go out and pay for the things that dating involves - it is not the right time for you to be dating. That’s the time to work on yourself and level up so then you’re actually in a position to go out and do fun things with people. I matched with a guy this week who asked if he could meet me somewhere to help me walk my dogs as a first date. I suggested dinner and he remarked that he’d prefer something more casual and…

I don’t use social media (except for reddit) as I person find it really vapid and a time sink that I don’t need in my life. If a guy asks to add me to Instagram/Snapchat etc I have quite often found they are a creep trying to follow as many women as possible or they want nudes. Social media has obviously become a massive part of our lives and a means of interconnectedness with loved ones, but I much rather a guy who is ‘unplugged’ from it and is able to foster connections in real life with his f…

It really frustrates me when they block you from ordering, one guy I met did it twice before I wisened up. We met at a pub for the first date and he said he had just eaten so I just had a single wine as we got to know each other. I was too stupid at the time to drop him after that and gave him the benefit of the doubt. However he got walked out on the second time when he dropped a story about not ordering dinner because his financial advisor told him to stop spending so much money on restaurants…

Great way to approach it I think, make them fit it into your already busy schedule without disrupting your day. And if they want longer date they can organise something special you can both work around, because it would be more worth your time and full attention.

I’m with you, much prefer lunch to dinner dates. Pick a cute little cafe, have lunch and a coffee or a sneaky midday wine. Have a chat, see what the conversation and chemistry and get a good look at then in good lighting lol. Then the best part is to say goodbye and flit away to enjoy the rest of my afternoon without the pressure of them suggesting to go to their house because ‘it’s late’.

So casually sending a picture if a woman asks what i'm doing and i have a massive penis and say "lol laying in bed with morning wood" and send a penis picture is sexual harassment? Yes sir, yes it is. An imbecilic, massive pervert - what an A+++ package right there

I hear what you’re saying there, it sounds like we‘ve been through some similar stuff. In all honesty I go through waves where I am really very, truly happy to be on my own for forever if that’s how it ends up being. I love my own company and I try to treat myself really well so I really won’t put up with shit from guys anymore. If that magical prince does come I will be so ready and so happy, but I won’t accept the toads in his stead

Oh I LOVE bold and confident, however this message was neither of those things. I feel like it was really half-arsed, impersonal and it wasn’t even decisive, like he wasn’t sure anyway. I’d rather talk to them on the phone than a short coffee date too, I can do the small talk on the phone and see if I want to see them in person, but that’s just my personal approach as I’m an introvert and I don’t want to use my social energy on someone I won’t get along with

How many times do you have to repeat your standards until it’s a waste of breath? I’ll communicate it once, maybe twice and if it’s not respected then I usually expect they won’t respect me in general and it’s time to move on. I think what you have to remember are that these people are strangers in the early stages of dating and I don’t really care about blocking and deleting them as they don’t mean anything to me until a connection is made. If they don’t what to do their part to make a connecti…

I’m not opposed to blocking someone though, I’m quite adept at the good old block ‘n’ delete, in this instance he hadn’t pissed me off so I was happy to leave a polite message to give my stance To juxtapose I had a lovely gentlemen tell me I am really gorgeous and he would love to take me on a date (awww) we had a phone convo and chatted and he was very keen to plan a cute dinner and drinks date (yessssss), then he proceeded to tank it by asking me if I like anal (ahhhhh whaaaat?) and then telli…

It’s not that I went out of my way to teach him, I just communicated what my standards are - I need to get to know you more and i only do real dates. I didn’t tell him ‘you’re wrong and you can’t ask people out like this!!!’ because that’s not my job in life

Yeah that one I’m going to stew on a bit before I consider replying, I don’t really have any questions to ask him currently as he’s given me nothing to work with lol 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s like, *here I am, woman, entertain me *

I’m always willing to give someone a chance to better their behaviour - it’s up to them if they take that cue and step up really. Hence why I stated my standard in a way that invites him to accept it. Mind you, if someone is being repulsive, or overtly sexual to me off the bat I would block and delete as that’s not going to improve

It’s so true! I’m keen to do something in person if I feel like there is potential there, but I don’t want to meet someone I haven’t spent time talking to and getting to know first And that’s so poor of him, he could have at least shown some enthusiasm and made it sound like it would be an interesting experience 🙄

It’s a short opening message but there’s a bit to unpack here: This looks like a copypasta message he sends to multiple people - ‘Hey’ and no mention or comment about my profile, which extensively covers who I am and what I’m looking for. He knows nothing about me, except from that profile and my photos, so how could he know he wants a ‘date’ without talking to me yet? So he wanted a photo of his dick IN the photo with her, to beat his dick to? Why not cut out the middle man and just take a photo of his own junk and leave her out of it. That man needs sex addiction counselling or something, that’s some extreme dopamine chasing going on.

I was a chatting to a guy I met through friends the other day and he wanted to ask me a ‘hard question’ - how and who I vote for in elections - before we worked out if we wanted to go on a date and get to know each other more. I’m comfortable with physical affection - kissing/hand holding - after a few dates when I start to feel a connection. Anything before that will be a polite hug and goodbye if it feels right. I only meet men who know that I am looking for something serious before we even get to the date. As soon as any talk or joking about sex or sexual innuendo comes up I tell guys upfront that I need to get to know them first before I am comfortable with that. Instigate firm boundaries - you are now only free at ‘these’ times for ‘this type of contact’. You have your own full, rich life and you are only available for x amount of time to spend together. Is the contact he wants more in person or when you’re not together (phone, texting etc). Because whether way you’re going to have to verbalise your needs and set and enforce limits that make you comfortable. It might seem mean, but it’s going to make you feel like you can breathe and have your own space…
