I see no lies here- despite common advice for women to remain humble, be 'down to earth' (read in manspeak: easy to manipulate, content with low effort situationships as that's all I have to offer) and make allowances for men's x y z inadequacies.... when I look back at my dating history, the more sassier, nonchalant & demanding I was upfront, the more respect & nicer dates I got long term lmao. Stay audacious!

On the contrary, whenever I tried to be empathetic or make allowances for their sob stories it totally backfired with them testing the waters with how much they could get away with & 9/10 they turned out to be manipulative- they were just running game on me- their sob story was the hook. Take a zero tolerance approach to men trying to undercut you. Men govern women through their emotions & empathy.

Some women have NO idea how acting powerful /high value & having a certain strong presence in the early stage can completely change the outcome of a situation as opposed to being an empathetic pushover. You can literally command what you want & leave if you don't get it. Men don't know you or your standards in the beginning, they don't know what you are accustomed to....and this is exactly why the power is in your hands to set the tone. The minute you make allowances for broke asses or mens disrespectful frugal behaviour....you've set him up in a low maintenance dynamic, one in which he reaps more than what he sows.

Men govern women through their emotions & empathy.

You speak total truth.
I frequent a sub where women discuss their current and past relationships with porn addicts, as well as a subreddit where people discuss whether their SO's are "just no". Can't tell you how many women are manipulated by men in just this way, particularly the addicts who cry crocodile tears and pretend to want to "seek treatment" when they really just don't give a shit at all how much they harm their girlfriends/wives. They want to tap into that "obligatory niceness/forgiveness" we women are drilled into providing from the time we are placed in the cradle.

Men who can't seem to manage manipulating women emotionally and/or with guilt will then move onto more physical forms of abuse.

A good take-away from the article: Men that give are "invested" and will lose that investment if they decide to dump you. So the more money a man spends on you, the more likely he is to stick around.

Because in this patriarchal society men already GET more than they deserve for thousands of years and a woman shouldn't do more than a man in a relationship...MUCh is already tipped in these men's favour...Maya Angelou said something like "I have been female for a long time,I'd be stupid not to be on my own side"in reference to why she's a feminist. Lol sorry for the bit of topic
