I (26F) was platonic friends with a fuckboy (27M) for sometime before he started flirting and asking for more. He said he wanted a Long term relationship and I agreed, on the condition that we were exclusive. It goes well for 2 months, in which he flirts and takes effort in building the relationship.

Out of the blue, he went into depression and said his feelings are not growing and rejects sex (partly because I think he felt bad he couldn’t make me cum all the time, though I’ve explained the problem is with me since I can’t even cum all the time when masturbating).

We go back to being friends but he sometimes acts like a Boyfriend. Within a month of this we have since went out twice, he continues to tease me frequently and pays for all our meals, pokes my sides/sat on me to tickle me, and held my hand and put his arm around me (and gently stroked my arm) when he noticed I was cold. He also brazenly told me he was looking at my boobs.

Less than a week from holding my hand, he now tells me he is going back on tinder to continue sleeping around. He said he told me because I don’t approve of this side of him and might disappear from his life; unlike other girls who he has slept with and cut contact from, he wants me around. By his own admission, I am the only Friend here that he is texting regularly (rest of friends are back in hometown) and the other girls he slept with all don’t keep in contact.

I’ve been dating others because I don’t bother waiting for him. Should I cut him off entirely? Out of the people I’ve dated, and whom I’m friends with, this selfish ex is arguably the person with the most common interests with me, and I’d hate to lose him. But I can’t explain what is going on between us when asked by this guy who might be interested in me.

My question is: if we remained friends, would this turn other potential suitors off?

TLDR: fuckboy pursues me claiming he wants a LTR. Fuckboy resumes to fuckboy ways but acts like my Boyfriend. Does this damage my dates?

(ALSO, Why do fuckboys try to pretend they’ve changed?!)
