It's all about the cheater and their character. There's always a choice not to cheat and not to put a partner's health in jeopardy. No, you couldn't have looked prettier, thinner, had more sex or kinkier sex, had better lingerie or be more intelligent to prevent him from cheating. No, being depressed or stressed at work is not a valid excuse to cheat. Even people in happy relationships with supermodels cheat. Even people in happy relationships cheat. There's nothing you could've done, this is who he is. No, it's not about the other woman. It's about him and his choice... yes, his choice. There's always other options and even people who don't mind being in open relationships.
You don't accidently fall into a vagina. You choose to put your immediate pleasure above the health and well being of your partner. If there's a problem in a relationship a man with a good character will either speak up or break up. If an honest man is feeling so much temptation from other women and wants to get with them, he'll break up before getting with them.
Don't fall for that post cheating relationship therapist guilt tripping BS that the cheating is a sign that you have to spice the relationship or work on issues on the relationship. It's not your job to make a cheater not to cheat. It's not your doing the work his integrity couldn't do. It's not your responsibility turning dishonesty and disregard into integrity. Why should you be rewarding a cheater with sexy lingerie, kinky sex and walking on eggshells to please him?
If he's making excuses, not taking responsibility and accepting that this was his choice, then believe me you, he'll cheat again.
