My friend "M" was raised in the foster-care system and never formed a healthy-relationship. Her mother was an alcoholic and her father was a convicted felon and so on.. . After not having access to basic resources the foster-care system stepped in and passed her on to her closest relative. In return her relative told her she was a "guest" and used it as an excuse to not support her.

M and I met in high-school she confined in me as her only source of a normal friendship. Like many teenagers we were co-dependent on one another.... but overtime it became obsessive on her end. She held Debby-Downer and Pick-Me characteristics and I knew that it wasn't her fault. At the time I felt guilty for not always being there to help her make appropriate decisions. (Now as an adult I know that wasn't my responsibility and an adult should have stepped in.) Overtime we lost communication and hadn't spoken in TEN YEARS.

Flash-foward to 2020 she contacted me....and girls I don't even know where to start there are so many red flags...

  1. She left her career and dropped out college to chase a man across the world.
  2. Married him (in his home country) because he was nice to her.
  3. Worked at his family business 8-10 hours a day without pay. (This is outside the US. Probably still illegal. )
  4. Doesn't wear make-up or dress up because he doesn't like it. 5.She says she no girlfriends because they have nothing in common all she needs is him.
  5. Told me they got in a fight and he reported her missing after 2 hours. Her face was blasted all across the news and social media. I know WTF!!
  6. AFTER I advised her this was NOT NORMAL she left him and moved back to the US. Only to tell me a week later they are "working things out" and she is applying to get him a K1 visa. Yes she's using her own income for the process and the future wedding.

Guys at this point... I don't know what to do! I need some real dam advice I've told her to seek therapy but she won't listen. I don't know If I should just end the friendship now or tell her to get he sh*t together.
