I couldn't be bothered to use a throwaway account. My query is the one above in the title, what are your thoughts or experiences with long distance relationship (the popular opinion being that they don't work).

And as a follow up question, would y'all keep talking to someone who made y'all feel good? As a form of emotional gratification? Knowing perhaps it's futile in the long run?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated -
