If we're going to say alpha/beta is a spectrum, I'm surely more toward the alpha side at age 24. I am a leader, I take on responsibility, I work out and am an athlete, I start conversations, I am the best and hardest worker in every room, I am commanding when needed, I ignore people who are too trashy or valueless for my life, etc. But the one problem I have in my life is that I failed to develop deep friendships as a teenager because I was always more mature and serious than kids my age and subsequently am a quite independent/introverted person, although I wish that were different now. I regret not understanding that back then. And now I'm at the point where I'm back in my hometown since graduating from college (bc of COVID), and all I really have are a few acquaintances from work and school, but no close bonds.
I feel that my lack of a thriving social circle hurts me in attracting quality girls. But I've also read that being a successful alpha does not necessarily require a large social circle. So which is it? I try to keep myself as busy as possible so that I don't drown in loneliness. I currently work two jobs (65 hours a week, bringing in really nice bank), and spend the rest of my time working out, playing sports with my one real guy friend who lives close, hanging out with my little cousins who are like siblings to me, and keeping up to date on my topics of interest. I wish I could make some more close friends, but is it still possible to be a successful alpha with women as an introvert/independent guy?
