Many of you guys have written to me about this topic. Therefore, I thought I'd answer one time and then I can refer you back to this thread. I'll answer honestly and straightforward so all of you can know my response.

As I told you guys, I hold a centrist political position. I'm a rational person not someone guided by passions or ideologies. Meanwhile, the current climate is highly politicized. I can no longer support it. I have no issue with people who consume this type of content but its not for me.

1-Story has taken the backseat to ideology

To me story, characters and settings should come first and ideology should be second or not even be part of a work at all. I can't enjoy a series if the coherence of the story takes the backseat to an ideology. Unless we are living in a totalitarian society where the party determines which content should be acceptable and which shouldn't then every creator should have the license to express himself freely and present their vision of the world.

2-The media promotes the Supremacy of one gender over another as opposed to Egalitarianism

Most of the shows I've seen shows on gender in a very positive light and the other in a very negative light. What's ironic is that even in shows aimed at boys, nowadays it seems most of the main characters of such series are no longer boys. Most series have replaced their main male character and not given the proper respect(like Luke Skywalker).

3-The movies portray unrealistic characters as opposed to well-rounded one's

Jill Pole from Narnia is a well-rounded character. She's full of fear and flaws. Despite these fears, Jill overcomes then and can go on an adventure to rescue Prince Rilian. She has shown courage against all odds. In contrast, Rey from the latest Star Wars is the complete opposite she has no flaws and can overcome the enemy with no difficulty. Instead, of the journey taking her three movies, it takes her one movie. These break the viewer of the suspension of disbelief.

4-The critics have unfair double standards where they shame one group if there's fan service

A man cannot enjoy fan service in this country. Most anime, manga, and video games are edited out. I am an adult and I can make my decision on what kind of content I can consume. I don't need a critic, a puritan, or a feminist to tell me how to live my life. If I want to play Hentai games, I will do it. More outlandish is that in most of these movies like (Twilight, 50 Shades of Grey) objectivization of men is allowed and even encouraged.

5- Most creators have turned their backs on their fanbase

This reason is painful but I feel that some creators see the fans of established properties as their enemy. Especially, comic books and video games, where the creators will insult their fans. I don't think it's a good idea to be trading insults back and forth between creators and fans. You should respect the fans, especially, since they are paying you.

6-Good Alternatives:

Anime and Manga. I love anime and manga! There are so much anime and manga that I'll let you guys pick your own. I recently started the series, "Domestic Girlfriend," by Kei Sasuga.. I'm more than willing to support female creators who write great series. Kei rites a Shōnen series a boy in love with his teacher and his teacher's younger sister. There's a good story, fun characters and lots of fan service! You'll see lots of hot girls. It's fun entertainment for any young man. I strongly recommend you guys support Kei and her content given how the SJW crowd makes her life difficult on Twitter.
