How should I deal with my manager?

I see a lot of comments about “working hard” and getting what you want. That is true in a true meritocracy which virtually every business is not. And the lower on the totem pole you go, like retail, the less true it is. So yes be good at your job. Yes be punctual and responsible. But part of your job is cultivating relationships especially with your boss. Staring at her stone face accomplishes exactly what? Are you going to intimidate her into putting you on the floor? She could hire someone else for your job in a moment. Smile, be friendly, be social. I bet half the reason she doesn’t put you on the floor is who the hell wants a floor salesperson who isn’t friendly. It’s the core skill for the job.

If your manager is going out of her way to give you a job that you hate then it probably means you're allowing her to see it upsets you which is not the way to behave when you're given a duty at work. If some shithead kid acted like he was too good to mop floors I'd give him that job too. Maybe it will do you some good.

You're missing something here: She's the boss. You're the employee. You scan the fucking customer items the best you possibly fucking can with a smile on your face and say, "may I have some more please sir?"

Have you told her how you feel?

I was in a similar situation to you at an old job ans all I did was asked my manager to change my position. He did it immediately. I genuinely thought he was gonna refuse and I was going to quit but he didn’t.

This is a retail job so you can easily quit and find another one.

Work hard as fuck in school and get a high paying job at a big company when you graduate. Shitty people aren’t common in high paying jobs .

You stop looking for a shortcut and work hard at the tasks you're given without whining about it.
