IT, by Stephen King.

A River Runs Through It and Other Stories

This is not a light read. I read it about once a year.

First story starts slowly with a long discussion of the intricacies of fly fishing and Montana, meanders into family life, then sucker punches you.

Another story is about persevering in the face of bad decisions.

In general I like books in different fields that talk about and explain fundamental principles. Understanding the timeless principles about economics for example, serves tou better than reading new books on economics left and right that will provide you with incorrect information
