I’m not sure about the exact timeline, but from the way most people tell stories it seems like they weren’t even exclusive here. Otherwise she would’ve said “boyfriend” or “we’d been dating for _______ weeks/months/etc.”

He lovebombed her hard & fast, got what he wanted and got out. He was never “in love” with this poor girl, he just told her what she wanted to hear. If you’re a romantic like me- this is EXACTLY what you need to watch out for. If it seems too good to be true- vet, vet, vet & wait patiently til you’re absolutely sure he’s a HVM instead of LVM masquerading in HVM’s* clothing.

I met this guy on Tinder and at first I thought he’d be worthwhile. I like to talk for at least 2 weeks before meeting up (I need to know you can hold a conversation and will initiate phone calls, text, etc). He was so understanding and patient.

Day comes to finally meet up and my best friend is also there since she came to visit and I hadn’t seen her in months. Plus, she’s great at vetting. 1 hour into us meeting at a public park, he pulls my best friend aside and tells her he loves me. She red flagged him but didn’t say anything yet.

He then starts pressuring me to be his girlfriend. I told him I’d like a few dates first and he says he understands.

She concludes that he’s harmless and maybe a real date without her there.

I entertain a second date over dinner. Things get weird. He tells me he could see himself marrying me. He says I’m “the perfect girl.” Even asks me if I’d like consider moving in with him.

I think he noticed I was uncomfortable so he tells me his best friend in high school killed himself (15 years ago) and starts tearing up.

I called an uber and left.

He later texted me that night saying that me leaving was shitty and that he was gonna tell me he loved me.

So odd.
