Alright, created a throwaway for posting this topic so no one can trace it back to my main account. But for purposes of clarity, I want this post to be taken 100% at face value since this is really what I'm struggling with currently and consider myself somewhat an advanced RPer and commenter. Still, reaching out to your communities can be important at times, and I'm at a cross roads right now. So I want to hear (good) opinions.
I've had an LTR for 4 years. Currently we are 23 and I'm just frustrated. The thing is, she is absolutely great, especially from a RP lens most of the time. We have an amazing time when we hang out, she has a low n-count, she NEVER bitches, she looks the other way WHENEVER I want to fuck another girl, she's set up threesomes, she has rich parents, she's humble, she's vastly intelligent, and she's hot as fuck. I honestly and truly do love her--most of the time, she's an RP man's dream. And I assure you--on my "not a throwaway account" I am an active contributor and lots of the people in this community have even DM'd me for advice. 99% of the time, my life is truly made. That is, until now.
I am just absolutely torn. Due to coronavirus I had to briefly move back home, but I've now got a great job offer in a lucrative career path. The thing is, while I fully and 100% believe myself to be someone who would thrive in such a career and based on my past experience would be someone who did (it's sales and I've always excelled socially as well as with women AND academically, having attended a T20 school, the killer combos for sales) my base salary offered in my preferred destination at my preferred job isn't so high that I can just ignore any prices thrown at me for places to live. Because despite my very high confidence I will succeed, there is always the chance I fail. I'm pretty much ready to accept the offer, and I think I'll do well there, but it just isn't enough to "ensure" that I can pay a very high solo apartment cost on my own will. I probably could since I plan to succeed, but when the alternative is most likely ruining my credit permanently until well after the age I'd want to buy a house, it's not a risk I want to take.
In any case, my current GF is amazing. I really want to live with her and think it'd go great. We've had a great relationship thus far. The thing is, she's just hesitant to move in together as she's saying it "feels a lot like marriage" since we'd probably never move out of living together once we moved in (and since I've said marriage is off the table, this would be 'our marriage' since as of current, I'd like her, above any other females, to be the one to have my kids).
And because of that and the fact I could afford to live with her while I start this job and potentially pursue VASTLY, VASTLY higher incomes, I want to live with her. And by vastly--I mean that, by the #s I've run, I'm calculating a conservative 40k salary. On that, I can't live alone whatsoever--it'd ruin me. However, if I performed well, I would probably make 100k by 24. It's really a "thrive or die" type of atmosphere in the field I want. And simultaneously, my LTR is really, really resisting moving in together. Thing is, if I bombed out of my field, that would ABSOLUTELY fuck me over financially. I would be fucked.
Now, it's tough because she's been so good to me in the past. At the same time, she's pretty much forcing me even deeper into that "thrive or die" atmosphere. If I do well, I get both a high salary and to keep her, the girl who's been great to me since even before she knew I was pursuing anything like this. If I fail, I'm forced into a position where I probably need to move back home--my credit is ruined, I'd need to be an LDR for way too long to keep her, and I'd need to restart my career path.
So I just have no clue what to do. IMO, it'd be easiest if she split an apartment with me NOW, which would split the middle on risks. Honestly, our relationship is great--so I'm not really worried about splitting if we moved in together. But she doesn't want that. She takes it as "we will be like that soon, so wait on that." It pisses me off that she doesn't see the practical side more. The reason she's like that--her parents have tons of money. She has never needed to see that in her life. But I grew up poor. I've always had to see that side. And this is really our first major conflict. 4 years in, very smooth until now. I just have no idea what to do. She's super hot, super rich, super high RMV. And we conflict on this--I want her to live with me, and she pretty much refuses to. If I proceed with pursuing this career path with a vastly higher rent cost for a one bedroom apartment and fail, I am pretty much fucked. OTOH, if I succeed, my life is made. What do?
Thanks brothers,
