Its not just women, but its an easy degree to obtain and it sounds prestigious when talking to people who didnt go to college.

That's just how they are. Women are more interested in people, and men are more interested in things. That's why more women are nurses and psychologists, and why more men are engineers and mechanics

Women are emotional creatures and therefore want to explore things like thoughts. They also often want to figure out what's wrong inside themselves.

They don't go to college to get a degree to support a family/make a load of money to grow social standing. They go to college for the experience and to pursue "their dreams."

They are emotional creatures. Simple as that.
