If it's totally cold...how is she going to know you're high SMV and 'open a path', if you don't approach her?

Sure, there is displaying value, social proof...but some women you are literally going to see once in your life, if you don't approach.

"Cold approaching" works because it gives you opportunities for a "spark" to exist with many more women. I don't like the term though, makes it seem so formal, like your whole day is about trying to talk to girls, which it shouldn't be. The best cold approaching happens off the cuff when you're doing what you'd already be doing that day and find your self in the vicinity of an attractive woman. You should be able to tell within 30seconds if the conversation is worth pursuing (iois or at least she seems into talking) and if not, no worries continue on with what you were doing.

Cold approach doesn't really work unless it's a club or place where it's expected. You both know deep down you're talking to a stranger. The human mind doesn't like that. Most girls will feel the possibility of danger even if they feel comfortable.

What you're referring to with the 'SMV' thing, is if someone had an ENORMOUS SMV then cold approaches would work. And I'm saying they'd have to look like Brad Pitt and drive a Ferrari.
