r/muslimredpill is gone. So I guess this is my safe haven. I posted my story there a little while ago. Thought I should share this here as well. Here's the original post:
EDIT: Thanks to u/broken_connection for the TLDR;
********** TLDR START ***********
His dad was abusive and not religious, but his mom was religious so he ended up becoming religious too, thanks to her.
College starts, he falls in love with a NAWALT Muslimah (you know how this'll end). He proposes to her and she puts out the "I was engaged once, he was an alcoholic and abusive wxyz-everything-bad person." Our guy says I understand, I have no problems.
She rudely drops him when she has a chance of marrying someone wealthier in her family. It fails. She's in contact with her oh-so-very-bad ex again, and defends him in front of our guy. Guy gives an ultimatum, him or me. She says ok, BUT -
She becomes extremely demanding and entitled and shows other red flags. Our guy drops her, has his sad phase and eventually finds MGTOW. Meanwhile, she tries for marriage in a lot of other places, doesn't work out. She comes crawling back yet again. Our guy says he forgives her, and then ghosts her.
Happy ending. Hopefully there's not a sequel beyond this as it doesn't get better, only worse if it drags on.
********** TLDR END **********
This is something that I always wanted to share with someone who understood me and this has been stuck for too long on my chest. So here goes:
Even though I've been keeping up with the posts on r/MGTOW subbreddit every now and then, but I never felt the need to post in that community because I felt that there was lesser Muslim presence there so they would probably not view my issue through the lens of religion. Anyhow, now that I see that there's this subreddit, I can't thank you enough for this one guys.
To understand the shit I went through, you must need to familiarize the family setting that I was brought up in. My mother hails from a village and she was wed to my father (32 at the time) at a very early age (16). My mother, being very religious, always instilled Islamic faith in me and she still reminds me of the religion (even to this day) whenever I am doing something wrong. However, my father, was the complete opposite of her but he was intelligent and well-off from his side of family. He just couldn't care less about religion and even argued with my mother over trivial issues, and there were even instances where my father mocked her for her religiosity. To put it in a concise manner, she experienced the worse forms of domestic violence at his hands but my mother always relied on Allah's word and acted patiently whenever my father would beat her. And she did all of this for the sake of her children. And my father would have the absolute worst behaviour with my mother. My father was so much in love with his money that my mother had to generate fake receipts in order to have my mother pay for what I wanted. So, as you can judge from my father's behaviour, I was clearly living in hell. My mind would sometimes even tell me to accept his kufr but all praise be to Allah, I held onto Islam extremely tightly and I would do that till my last breath.
Not only did my father hate my mother, but he also hated me to death. When I passed high school with a low grade, he discouraged me so much that I wanted to commit suicide but I didn't want my mother to suffer in the hell that we both were a part of. And he would always fight with me when I would ask him for money. Anyway, I applied for a CS programme in a university and they accepted me; and that was the best day of my life as I am the first person from my family to have been studying from the prestigious institution.
Anyhow, I joined the university and made some great friends there. So here comes the part where I fell in love with a girl [my first ever love]. We didn't actually ever meet together since it was an LDR but I found her on an online forum [which was referred to by my university's friend]. She was highly intelligent regarding the issues of the religion [and also was adamant on how Islam can't be reformed for mere wishes and whims of people] and knew inside out about a lot of things. When I observed her writing style and how she was so alike in my thinking, I thought that she was the one that I would be with for the rest of my life.
We would discuss a particular religious issue every single day (even though I was a CS student, I still had learnt quite a lot from my mother and I read extensively about the Sufis in my day-to-day boredom -- My mother is also a Sufi disciple). This led one thing from another and then I proposed her.
She, at first, thought I was joking but I was serious; then she told me, at that point, that her engagement was broken with a guy [he was also his first] three years ago and she told me all the frauds and scams that he and his family had done. He was a drunkard who lied to her on multiple occassions. She convinced me that he was an asshole. So, I ignored that and told her that I would still take her and love her to the fullest [What a SIMP I was -- I laugh at myself now]. She suggested that I should send my mother six months after, which I was completely okay with. We started talking even more everyday as I graduated and I was looking for a job. She gave me hope and always supported me with du`as and good words.
During this time, my father would call me every single day and ask me whether I had found a job. He would just do this to make me feel annoyed and pathetic. So when six months passed, she completely changed her behaviour and told me to just go away. I was utterly shocked to know this and my soul was completely crushed. Around this time again, I thought of committing suicide again but my university's friend reprimanded me and told me that I am being immature and I should not lose a life over some stupid girl. Anyhow, it turned out that someone else wealthier than me [someone from her family] wanted to see her but she got rejected by him; which soothed my heart but I came to know of this through a very secret source.
So I forgive her in my heart and we start messaging again. It turned out that the bitch was in contact with her ex-fiance [with whom her engagement was broken]. When I found this out, I was boiling with anger and I told her to block/delete his contact. And she wouldn't do it. She would say that I can't handle the truth and how I would get beaten up by him if he ever met me. This shit was enough for me and I gave her an ultimatum -- either choose your ex-fiance or me; and I even called a whore [because only a whore has relationships with more than one person]
Ironically, when I would tell her that your ex-fiance was a piece of shit, she would defend him and tell me that I do not know about him [even though these were her words when she used to discuss about him]. At moments, she would be the most ungrateful person I had ever seen [because she would be comparing with her ex-fiance in her head].
She came crawling back and told me that she chose me. Then came the discussion of marriage proposal. My mother only called her mother and she told her that she would be arriving in a month. Then, she told me how I can't bother her in the following areas during our marriage:
- She can go to her uncle's house whenever she wants to as he always took great care of her.
- She should never use the taxi. I should own a car.
- We should live separately from my parents.
- She would not clean the house.
I objected to all of these points; as she wanted me to become a slave for the rest of my life. I told her how I still need time to buy a car/house for myself as I had barely started my job. And so thus, we broke up. She even had the audacity to twist Islam to achieve her own ends. So at the end of the day, she only possessed knowledge of Islam yet I was a fool who thought of her in the same manner as my mother was.
I also once told her that she would not contact any male friends post-marriage; and to which she shout like a piece of shit. And told me how imposing I was (!)
When I broke up with her, I couldn't find anything to replace that void that she had created so I turned to porn and I masturbated to it every week. I would ask for forgiveness every single time but I had lost control of my own self. Then, a great friend of mine introduced me to MGTOW and every post that I read just made me feel in heaven because I kind of relate to the frustration that I went through with other people. I learnt about the women's hypergamous nature and her evil ways but then I had no religious backing for my statements. So I turned to Hadith about women and I had never found such red-pilled stuff; and then I also started studying lives of ulama, fuqahah, and sufiya who never married and how they lived a peaceful life.
So one year just went like that, and I got to know through someone that she is extremely depressed as she can't find someone to get married with. She sent out marriage proposals but she was rejected by every single one of them. Now I know that; that I shouldn't express happiness at this fact but the pain that she offered me was immense and I have full trust in Allah that He always accepts the prayers of an oppressed person. I was extremely sincere with her but she treated me like a piece of shit.
She messaged me for asking forgiveness from me, so I consulted with one of my best friends and he told me that I should forgive her. So I did that and then when she wanted me to become friends with her, I accepted her offer and ghosted her. She messaged me continuously for the next 3 months and I would never respond back to her.
This is my story of a bluepill-turned-MGTOW. What's yours?
