If you can graduate, then finish the degree. Otherwise, look into trade schools because the alternative is working a dead end minimum wage job that pays shit and affords nothing.

You're asking the wrong question. The question is what kind of work do I want to engage in that will provide me with a source of income that will support the lifestyle I want to live. Work that is at least tolerable, but ideally something you're interested in and gives you some fulfillment. Reverse engineer your life. A college degree in this day and age shows that you have a base level of competence and the ability to finish something. Lots of employers won't even look at you if you don't have a certain level of education. Yes finish the degree. Canadian school debt isn't equivalent to the shit show that happens in the US. If you're still hesitant, consider taking a break and go work a job so you can gain perspective and appreciate your ability to have access to higher education and the opportunities it provides. Also consider the possibility that you might be burnt out from school and need to take a break. You've been in school since diapers, there's a reason that gap years are becoming popular. Gap years give you perspective, making you more mature.

It's worth it for the right major. It's not worth it for the wrong major. Do your homework, look up salaries for various fields and degrees. Then figure up costs to get said degree in said field. Then it's a question of is the income earned worth the cost invested? What's the return on the time and money invested?

Most degrees these days don't pay for themselves. Some do though.

I honestly think if I had to do it over again, I'd look harder at trade schools than college. Skilled trades are making as much or more than some degreed professions now.

Depends on what you're paying for it and if youre going into debt. If its cheap in Canada (idk), and you're living at home with family for free.... unless you have something else, yes do it.

I barely graduated from UC Berkeley with a mechanical engineering degree, but I managed. But I was basically worthless in that field, especially in 2009s economy. I went to a car dealership without knowing better. I walked into an Audi dealership with a resume after seeing their ad on craigslist. No experience. I wore jeans. I didnt know car salesman wore slacks or suits.

But the owner went to Cal, and was impressed with my engineering degree. So he let me start and sell Audis right away. I made GREAT money right away. It saved me a year or two struggling at shittier dealerships working my way up.

TLDR: Even if you dont use your degree, it always gives you a small, or sometimes large, leg up.

Try to finish the fucking degree. In Canada everyone has a degree so it’s basically a high school diploma at this point.

Transfer to business or something easier.

I went to both college and Uni in Canada.

Unless you want to work in a trade/skill (which can be very lucrative), stick with Uni. The overall experience is better and the prospects are generally better in the long term.
