I disagree. There's a whole bunch of literature on the retention of semen as a mystical act of devotion that leads to . . . powers. It's found in Taoism, Tantra, and other religious groups. The problem is most who abstain aren't familiar with the context, though they intuitively grasp the benefits.

One word for you: sublimation. Look it up.
I doubt that this is the stupidest shit you have ever heard. You just haven't thought it through. You're also probably in your twenties, so you have an abundance of sexual energy.
Sex requires energy. That's why old people have less of it, and young people have more of it.
Recreational sex was long considered sinful in part because it wasted energy that could have been channeled towards productive, taxable labor. It also risked the creation of more mouths to feed, bastards, etc.
There is much anecdotal evidence that people who abstain from ejaculation enjoy more energy and a heightened sense of well-being. The most benefits are enjoyed from abstention of a year and more. Yogis who practice this abstention state that people who can abstain for a year will not miss orgasm.
You can argue that this all just a biochemical hallucination, but that's besides the point. For thousands of years, learned individuals have strived for abstinence to attain various goals. The writer Upton Sinclair took a vow of a continence or chastity and said it helped his work productivity because he sublimated all of his sexual energy into his work.

It's like AA for people who drink twice a year. It's incredible that they advocate such an extreme behavior. I know they say that each person has a different goal, but the posts and upvotes seem to reward the longest you can go without fapping.
I'm all for "responsible" fapping: low levels of stimulation, prolonged sessions, predictable frequency. Porn actually helps if you just let it fill in the gaps instead of providing all the stimulation.

I'm a proud neckbeard that dreams of tasting a beautiful maiden's vajajay. But they also need to know their place and stay in the kitchen! Amirite guys!?
You figured me out. I'm thinking if I eat enough ALPHA bits I'll finally get a woman to be naked around me.

Please tell me how to be so alpha, and cool. Nothing gets the ladies hotter than being an asshole to them!
People are generally attracted to strength and repelled by weakness. Unfortunately, assholishness is often confused for strength, and kindness is often confused for weakness. I dislike this, but I can't ignore the reality that I've observed.
It's not about being "cool," it's about not believing lies that lead you to act against your self-interest, and in favor of other people's self-interest. It's also about recognizing what motivates people's behavior: self-interest (big surprise). Finally, it's about recognizing potential pitfalls that come with interacting with members of the opposite sex.
Also, there is no unified dogma that everyone on TRP subscribes to. There is also a lot of spleen-venting, rage and vitriol, just like you would find on a radical feminist website. The common element for many TRP/MRA and radical feminists is being fucked over by members of the opposite sex.
Finally, I know people IRL who have been on the receiving end of ill treatment by women. These men did NOTHING to deserve this treatment. They were victimized and exploited in an extremely cruel and predatory manner. TRP and MRA basically explain the phenomena that led to their victimization.
