I remember there was a post saying if a man is approached first he will value you less. It's better to let him approach you - this is why bumble sucks.

Ugh I agree, bumble is not ideal - but tinder is trash, hinge the guys don’t even engage and OkCupid everyone is ugly. Bumble seems to have the best quality guys in my experience.

I also think that Bumble is "less bad" than the other apps available. I usually just send a funny gif with an animal saying "hi" or something like that, and if they are interested, they can keep the conversation up. I don't want to come up with clever openings just to have guys replying half-interested.
