I try to give my girlfriend space so that we don't get sick of each other. 1 day is normal, 2 days if I have a legitimate excuse that I have actual stuff to do (in corona let's face it, we all have a lot of free time). This weekend I had drill with the national guard, and I took it as an opportunity to not see her for 4 whole days. thursday through sunday. I never make plans specifically to seem less available to my girlfriend- my unavailablity is always for real.

During our days off and especially drill weekend I am pretty busy. today for instance I didn't text her back while I was at the shooting range for hours- because I was just focusing my mental energy on the tasks at hand (zeroing and qualifying) and couldn't think about talking to my girl too. Again for these delays in texting, it is never just me playing stupid games, like the classic, setting a 3 hour timer to respond to a girl. I never do that. I am actually busy doing stuff and I will receive a message and not be able to start randomly talking to her at that time.

All red pill channels and theories say that I am doing the exact right thing by being being on my mission first and foremost and not dropping everything to talk to her all the time. However in practice it just doesn't seem to work. She seems to be more receptive to when I send her more messages during the day while we are both at work and we carry on a conversation throughout the day. When we do so, she always asks me more questions about my day and is sweet and warm to me over text/when I see her next.

When I am too cold to her over text I feel like I am letting our relationship go cold during our 2-4 day breaks. She always texts me an initiates conversation, and it seems as though I am negatively reinforcing this good behavior.

Guys with long term girlfriends who you normally see 4+ times a week, how much do you text them on the days off? What do you do when you guys have to take 4 days or more off from each other? Should I indulge my girlfriend's neediness a little more as it is actually a good thing? Or should I just stick to my guns and text her sparingly on our off days and not think about her that much when she is not there.
