I've been trying my damnedest to work on this over the past year, having spent my life apologizing for everything, the littlest of things, things I wasn't even really sorry for. It was just reflexive. Disgusting.

It was explained to me like "apologizing puts you in a position of submission and out of your dominant frame." Now, if I'm truly "sorry" for something (an actual wrongdoing, not just me trying to apease someone else for some shit I'm not actually sorry for), I try to make up for it with my actions, not words.

This, and saying "please" and "thank you" for every little thing. Fuck that.
