Is because of safety concerns. I swipe right on many guys on Tinder and almost set up dates with some but if my gut tells me something is wrong, like they might just be looking for sex or they might be controlling I listen, and I unmatch. There is a risk I take as a woman simply by being around men. If I ever let my guard down, I risk being assaulted or worse.

Every day, whether it’s men on the internet men at school or men at the grocery story I have to always mind my safety. I can’t look men in the eyes because that could be interpreted as aggression. I make sure to never wear clothes that may flatter my body as it might get me unwanted attention. I am ready to fight for dear life any moment of the day.

I won’t lie, attractiveness is a factor. And it is for you too. But only in terms of whether I want to do things with him. The biggest factor is safety.

Simply be

  1. Not a murderer
  2. Attractive
  3. Not a rapist
