I'm new to the bible ect, my parents never let me read it as a child. I've specifically started reading the King James Version, because i believe it to be the most accurate, as it was the first popular english translation of the bible.

There are MANY passages that portray women in a negative way, which have been rewritten in the newer translations, to being less harsh.

Right at the start, Genesis 3:16 has a huge discrepancy between the KJV version and pretty much every other version.

KJV Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

New Living Translation Then he said to the woman, “I will sharpen the pain of your pregnancy, and in pain you will give birth. And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.”  English Standard Version To the woman he said, “I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be contrary to your husband, but he shall rule over you.”
