The trailer is sadly a little more optimistic than the actual movie. The following will contain some spoilers so you've been warned.

The movie centers around 2 late teens/early twenties guy and girl who meet each other and fall in love. A few days before running into each other, the girl (Cindy) has sex with her current boyfriend/sex buddy and he cums inside of her. This eventually leads to a pregnancy that develops for 11+ weeks while she is with the new guy (Dean). They are about to have an abortion when, at the last minute, Cindy changes her mind. Dean decides to stay with her and start a family with Cindy and the girl whom they're certain is not Dean's.

I can already see the life laid out in front of Dean after having made this decision. The marriage slowly starts to rot and their relationship is strained heavily. This all culminates in Cindy wanting a divorce after a fight occurs at her workplace with Dean. Now this is the part that I really felt hard.

When she says that to him, Dean takes a moment to himself and it slowly sinks in that after 6+ years of devoting himself to this girl and their daughter, of working to support them, and after haven given up other possible paths his life could have taken, it all amounts to a divorce. What started as a decision to be there for a girl, as a decision to support her through this journey that Cindy admitted he has no fault in...what started as this guy being clouded by the idea of being a white knight, of seeking the fairy tale ending, the love forever after, resulted in a good part of his life being squandered.

We are left to assume that the divorce does take place, but that can only be assumed. For all we know, they might be able to work it out. Then again, we're not naive here.

To those of you who have been inundated with romance films where there is always the happy ending or even a happy plot throughout most of the film, this will serve as a good reminder (or wake up call) what the reality is for some relationships.
