Hi, Iβm currently a medical student in my early 20s. To give a bit of background about me, I grew up in a very conservative Asian household of Christian faith. I was taught to dress modestly, to conserve my virginity, and to always look presentable. I started dating in college, but Iβve only had 1 short term relationship and remain a virgin. There were many advances from other guys, but I turned them down because they werenβt looking for anything serious.
Though I grew up in such a conservative environment. I was also taught to study hard and become a doctor that will honor the family name. I did just that, and will be working in the medical field soon. However, I am realizing that I may have picked the wrong career in order to find the ideal husband. I want a loyal, smart, traditional, and responsible family man who can provide well for his wife and children. These types of men do not seem to want to marry women working in the medical field in fear that they would be career obsessed. I am planning to work part time in primary care once I get married in order to have children and be there for my husband. I am getting fearful as I age each year because I might have chosen the wrong career path and will end up having to give up the family of my dreams. I would like to hear about similar experiences that other women are going through and some advice on how to meet potential husband material. Thank you for all your help!
