This is quite the stretch.

She had an unstable upbringing, her mom married an abusive guy, Marilyn never knew her father. Marilyn was sexually abused growing up, and her mother was thrown in mental institutions. She suffered from addiction and what looks like (in hindsight) mental illness/mood problems. Her death was self inflicted, and no wonder.

Edit: forgot to mention she also suffered from several miscarriages. I believe that one of the scenes from Some Like It Hot (running up and down the boardwalk at the hotel) caused her to miscarry. That sort of trauma will also mess with someone's mental health.

Apart from all of her problems wich have been mentioned by others, she never got to live up to her potential as an actor because of the gender roles of the time. Monroe wanted serious roles and definitely had the potential. She never got to do that because she was type casted as a bimbo and a sex object wich fitted the expectations of the age. That is probably a bigger reason to her despair than sheer vanity.

You should not over estimate how much women care about the attitudes that red pill muppets have against them, then or now.
