How do you deal with women who misunderstand every other sentence you say?

Recently I was talking to this women, around 22 and she was either dumb or played me.

So I say to her: "What's it like living here?"

She said: "It's nice, everything is quite sheltered".

She asked: "Do you want to live here?"

I said: "No way, sheltered is horrible! I like it much more when there are events and things going on"

She: confused look.

And that went on, all banter, everything I put there was met with this look that was either her playing dumb or being dumb.

As I assume everyone to be smarter, she was probably playing me.
