How much do movies or TV shows affect your opinion of the opposite gender?

A TV show isn't a depiction of reality. Its a handful of people's depiction of reality in outlandish ways to elicit an emotional response. I work in the industry and I've been in writers rooms. Nobody there is under any illusion their romances or social dynamics are anything like real life. They're mostly writing to the sensibilities of a narrow demographic or intentionally pushing something to absurdity or some other motivation that gives them ample reason to just disregard anything that could reasonably happen in reality.

Not too much, not more than real life and my upbringing for damn sure, movies and TV may teach you a small lesson or a new perspective maybe, but at the end of the day the shit is a fantasy

Movies and TV don't affect my opinion, but they can often be good depictions of things I believe or have observed in real life. They make good, accessible illustrations which is why people refer to them often as examples of certain concepts.

I think it doesn't affect mine because im an adult who's conscious about the fact that media doesn't represent reality very well. But im sure it can affect children so we still shouldn't be ok with anything on the basis of it being fictional
