My ex dumped me about a month ago, and looking back on it, it's good that it happened. I was her only source of entertainment and mental health, she had no hobbies. She had horrible anxiety, and night after night I stayed up trying to help her. She showed me lots of love, however when it came to the real big things, communication, trust, etc it didn't go well.

I put so much into the relationship, driving hours all the time to see her since we were long distance, she never came to see me

She would never talk to me in person about difficult things, always wait until I drove hours home to text me about it, refusing to talk in person.

Wanting time alone to work on my passion, was met with accusations of not loving her as much because it was taking time away from her. Same with wanting to work out because I felt horrible about myself.

She said she fell out of love with me. It's just like what happened with her past boyfriends. She never talked to me about it, because she said it would have been too difficult to talk about.

The end of our relationship was hell for me, she pulled away from me, gave me disgusted looks when I tried to initiate anything anything sexual, stopped talking to me as much. She said she was just stressed out from work, so I tried to do more for her than usual, extra dates, gifts, surprises.

And she dumped me, looking back based on what she said. A lot of it was that I hadn't just coddled her for hours. Instead I tried to help her with her anxiety, talking her through tactics to better it.

It was my first relationship, I wasn't even looking for one at the time. We were together more than a year, and she ended it in an awful way that hurt me to the core.

I'm 25 though, now I have time to pursue my passion further and eventually become a success because of it. I was okay before, and I know that I'll be okay again eventually.

I assume that a lot of people here went through similar things. What did you find helped you get back on the horse? Because while I know that I will be okay eventually, I'm struggling a lot right now
