I saw a post on this sub in the morning and a guy was saying how he barely leaves the house - he works, goes home and keeps fit/active etc but he has 0 friends and he frequents this sub for red pills.

Now, I'm not too dis-similar from this guy. Although I have a very small friend group of around 10 friends, 2-3 of them being the more reliable ones. But one of those guys, let's call him "John" has been acting differently recently.

Let me backtrack to last year. Last year he was in a job he hated. I got him a job in my place and he said how "he's so grateful and wants to see you [me] climb the ladder!"

Well, this year I'm expecting a promotion - and he's now started to say how the only people who deserve payrises and promotions are doctors and nurses for all the hours they put in! It has became abundantly clear that he's jealous that I'm younger than him but I married my career, not a woman.

It's almost comical. People you think are your friends really aren't. Rule numero uno: look after YOURSELF. Even guys who claim to be your friend and claim to want the best for you get jealous when things are going well for you and not them.

I'm likely going to end up exactly like the guy I mentioned in my first sentence. People are unreliable and don't want to see you succeed. You've got to go for gold and make your own successes in this life, fellas!
