Would you still read books in English if you were living in a non English-speaking country?

Books contain information.You read books to gain knowledge.

Many classic self improvement books are translated to many languages.Also, it might be a personal preference, translated books seem boring and feels like something has been lost.

If you still want to expand your vocabulary just start reading literature written in your native language.

Reading is a good hobby no matter what you like reading.Aim to read a book per week.

Not living in an English country and reading books in English.

If English is your second language read in English.

If you are learning new language, read in that language.

All that said, most good literature are in English, rest in Russian (don't have actual data on this).

Exception to reading in your native tongue only would be if there's a big body of quality literature written in it (examples: English, Russian...) or/and you have some unique research or other writings in your language.

I live in America and read books in French, occasionally translate from Latin just to help an edge on declensions and grammar.

But my info gathering reading is all English, why? Because it requires the least effort to get the most value.

If you're trying to learn another language, use it to converse.

If you're trying to maintain a language just use it occasionally. The more the better.
