So if you really think both men and women deserve equality then why do you say you are a feminist? The two are mutually exclusive.

I think the majority of us here believe men and women are equal, and that’s why we’re 100% not feminists.

If we’re saying we’re against feminism, one has to note the group and what it does. You have those in the name of feminism advocate for ‘kill all men’, which i think we’d both like to define as ‘not true feminism’. You then have the notion that being Male is inherently privileged and a constant attack on masculinity, with the constant demonisation of men. This will be from feminists too.

Now it’s easy to say ‘that’s not true feminism’ to the above, and one could agree with you. However, the ‘true’ feminists don’t seem to actively shame these people. They’re glorified by mainstream media, they face no negative repercussions at work, and now seemingly have the entirety of left wing politics shoving these ideas down our throats. If ‘true’ feminism was against this, why is it so prominent.

However, the main reason why I’m so opposed to feminism is that they actively go against men’s rights. We’re literally seen as disposable. The rape laws in Britain were rewritten so that a man cannot be raped by a woman. This was done by a feminist. Child custody sexism is constantly shot down because of feminists, and the agenda being pushed. Diversity quotas which literally discriminate against men, whites, and Asians for well respected jobs, yet there is nothing for the less respected jobs. This was pushed forth by feminists. Days that focus on men’s mental health have been opposed by feminists, causing them to be shut down. Domestic violence centres that focus on men’s issues being shut down, while Male domestic violence is being seen as a joke. Where are the feminists fighting for this? More women’s homeless shelters, despite men making up 75% of the homeless, and yet women are still oppressed by this. A ‘wage gap’ that means women are being overpaid as an attempt to fix this (england women’s team gets paid as much as the male’s team for football, despite them bringing in much less revenue).

All of this and in countries where women are actually oppressed, we’re focusing on manspreading (our genitals exist), mansplaining (what?), and easily disproven myths to make women the victims. Countries that need equal rights for women get nothing.

How can you claim you want equality, yet support a movement responsible for the complete demonisation of men? What makes it worth being a feminist in the western world when it ignores the rights of one sex, and actively opposes it?

So a real question - do you understand why so many people - especially men - have contempt for people who call themselves feminists in that all most of us hear from feminism is the angry misandrists who want to pin all of the worlds problems on men?

As a follow up what do you think of a re-naming to something other than 'feminism' to be more representative of your beliefs in equal gender rights that would also separate you from the "I hate men" sentiment that mainstream feminism carries?

I just stumbled across this subreddit. I don’t consider myself an anti feminist really.

But in America it has become a trend to constantly tell men how evil they are and how easy their lives are. Women, on the other hand are often constantly told they’re victims and that they are innocent princesses.

Do you think this narrative is helping? I’m in college and lately I’ve become to fed up with this concept

When you say equality, do you mean opportunity or outcome? feminism is an equality movement and never has, it’s a quasi religious movement, with one of the central tenants being men have subjugated women through history with a tyrannical patriarchy(which is nonsense) once you understand this the movements goals and actions make more sense( looks at what they do, not what they say)

I think when people refer to feminism in this subreddit they mean the unreasonable condescending Anita Sarkeesians of the world that choose to see everything as sexist to justify their superiority and victim complexes. I would say the type of disagreements that most of the people on this subreddit would have with you would not be moralality, but just what is and is not a problem based on statistical data and whether or not our proposed solutions help

Tbh, I just became tired of feeling like I gotta behave a certain way. Like, if I look at girl wrong she'll either say "stip staring ugly" or "stop undressing me with your eyes" when I'm acrually just looking somewhere else. When I was on r/feminism (still trying to educate myself on feminism as much as I can) I even found a post saying "feminism isn't there to solve men's problems. Ok, but then why do they expect men to help them solve their problems? From what I've gathered feminsim isn't what it used to be. Modern feminism is just "men are trash" and constantly bashing on them. And when a guy says anything against the person that calls men trash, he is seen as sexist. (For example, if a guy tries fo explain something to woman she can just accuse him of mansplaining.) I do understant that some feminists aren't bad. But due to hipocrisy and sexists calling themselves feminists, modern feminism became a huge joke. I am not anti feminist, but I decided to not support them either. I believe in equality so I decided to stand for true equality.

Well, most people here are MRA's, however i am a traditionalist and am opposed to feminism for different reasons. Women's "empowerment" of being strong and independent away from husbands and children has not made them or society at large better off.
