It's always best to end things on YOUR terms. If the relationship is over, why do you care about her anyway?

Also, the Alpha Widow thing just happens, it's not something to aspire to. Alpha Widow the wrong girl and you just may end up with a stalker.

I don't think there's a winning play that involves you, the guy, providing a declared release from the relationship.

My experience has been that the women who've pined the hardest were the ones who ended things by demanding more. They didn't get more. Then they said, "Okay, I'm out."

Anything beyond that falls under the heading of shit I'd just let die on the vine. There's nothing to be gained from trying to prove a point if the whole situation has gone sour anyhow.
