Well they might have contributed to one of the worst outbreaks in Uruguay. About 8000 people gathered in Montevideo for an International Women’s Day March, even despite the (female) mayor and the leaders of feminist organizations telling them not to. Many of them weren’t wearing masks and social distancing was poor.

Two weeks later, the country is facing record daily infection and death rates. I’ll just leave it at that.
