Interesting fact Boyhood was filmed over twelve years using the same cast just waiting for the kids to naturally grow up and you apparently can’t sign and acting contract for more then seven years so they were not on contract it was just on faith that the actors would make time and film the movie and come back each year but honestly actors love working for Linklater and usually make multiple films with him so they are very loyal to him.

I love his movies in the Before Trilogy. They are "romance" movies and not MGTOW at all but I still enjoy them a lot. The conversations between the two characters are deep and yet very connected and relatable.

Linklater is always a win. Great storyteller.
And I love that Hawke chooses projects that veer far afield of the normal, commercial fare.

Everyone should watch this movie. It's called Boyhood. It is truly a once in a decade movie. Made over 12 years. The performances are really great. A lot of people trashed on the movie because they couldn't relate to it (probably women let's be real). But if you are male you will most likely get a lot of the sentiments proposed.
Personally I really loved it. And Ethan Hawke's character is probably the best in the movie. If Hawkes character didn't end up married at the end he would actually strongly embody this sub (though his character doesn't change much and marries a trad wife).
Do yourself a favor and watch it, it's great.
