Hi everyone,
I'm trying to determine the best way to deal with this beta coworker of mine. He used to be an ok guy and keep to himself but now he's trying to act alpha and it's beyond cringe worthy. I believe his medication was switched to a different one earlier this year.
Whenever our lead guy is not at work, he likes to think he is in charge, even though people tend to gravitate towards me when they need serious help with an issue.
He's starting to verbally call me out on mistakes in front of other coworkers. Now these aren't really mistakes, just him not reading through client notes to see I followed instructions as per client request.
He's the kind of paranoid guy who's always on edge and can't take any crisitism himself. Our team lead told me even mentioning the most minor unimportant thing to him will have him lose his shit and go crazy. Likely cry and need consoling to cool down. This beta talks to himself out loud, slams his fist on the keyboard, and paces back and forth across the office nonstop.
It also doesn't help that he spends all day on ok cupid and gets rejected all day. I'm guessing this is fueling his emotions and causing him to want to lash out.
Management tends to look out for him like a retarded child who needs someone to care and make a difference in their life.
Part of me thinks he needs to go, not sure if I should find some machiavellian way to get rid of him. Obviously he's guarded enough by upper management that nothing would get done.
Any thoughts on this situation?
