So my LTR is pretty submissive and does what I tell her normally. We were going out Friday for a movie which I wanted to see, and dinner. I told her to wear a specific dress that I wanted her to wear (which she originally bought for her friend's birthday party at a club and wore it there) but she didn't wear it and instead wore another one. Her excuse was that it was too "revealing" for the movies and restaurant.

Told her when I came to pick her up to go change into it because that's what I want to see, but she didn't and said that I should have came to her friend's party with her if I wanted to see it (I didn't want to go). And I got a bit irritated about it so I was cold and distant at the movies, and the restaurant, and she kept asking me if she looked nice, etc. I pretty much didn't give her the validation she wanted. "Could be better OBVIOUSLY" in a joking manner, etc.

Pretty sure she's aware I didn't like that she didn't wear it and she kept trying to get me to kiss her, cuddle her in the movies, and give her attention when we were eating but I remained distant/cold. But I feel like there had to have been a better way to handle it? I was honestly considering telling her we're not going if she doesn't wear it but I guess that would have been childish as hell. I kind of think even the cold treatment was a bit childish over a dress, but it caught me off-guard as normally she listens. I got over it by the end of the night and the next day I let it go but I'm still wondering how to handle a situation like that in the future.

And I still want to try to get her to wear it for me.
