There is no wasting your life. Our lives begin and end no matter what. What we do during this time doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

If you enjoy being lazy and watching tv all day do it. Who cares.

Wasting your life to me, means being unhappy.

We are given a very short amount of time on this planet, maybe 80 years if we are lucky. There are 365 days in a year, and for lost people, about 230 are spent in school as kids, growing up, being told how to think, how to act, how to talk, how to become a slave.

When you get older, you get that 9 to 5, and spend 40+ hours a week at a job you don't enjoy. Fast forward a little bit, maybe you climb the corporate ladder and attract attention from a female. Now you spend all your time and money on dates, events, shopping, snd eventually kids. Now you have a negative amount of time for yourself, and a dwinbank account. You get promoted and make just enough to buy a nicer house, a nicer car, and pay the bills.

The car you drive is probably a minivan with 200hp, some boring silver or gold/brown color, with 230,000km on it. You look at your now wife, seeing that shes gained about 50lbs, not how she was at all, and realize you haven't been touched by her in over a year. You sheepishly go into the bathroom and rub one out like you were a 15 year old boy trying to hide your "dirty habits".

The house is a mess, and you realize that none the decorations, furniture, colors, are anything you wanted. It was everything your wife wanted. You go into the childrens room and stare at them while they are fast asleep. You love them dearly, although they both kind of look like your boss. Whatever, you dismiss the thought.

You make your way to the kitchen to make some coffee and see an envelope on the table with your name on it. Inside are divorce papers from your wife. Shes unhappy and has found someone else. You dont even make your coffee and just grab your keys and get in the van, driving all over thinking this is a bad dream and you'll eventually wake up.

The seatbelt gets tight and your stomach and you look down, realizing its been some time since you have worked out, and grab your belly. You've gained about 30lbs.

Depression kicks in and you realize how much your life sucks. Your kids won't grow up with you anymore. Some other guy is going to raise them. You'll be lucky to see them on every second weekend.

Fast forward two years and you've now got child support payments, spousal support payments, a $150k dicorce fee that you have to pay for yourself and your ex wife, 0 custody of your children as you were an "abuser" during the marriage with 0 evidence being shown. Oh, and the new guy is your old boss, the one that your kids look like. He fired you once your ex wife claimed you were an abuser.

You have no wife, no kids, live in a shitty apartment in the seedy part of town, drive a 30 year old, broken down shit box, make minimum wage at 2 full time jobs just to pay legal fees, and have been threaten with imprisonment if you cant pay the next months child support plus the additional $300 you were short from last month.

Your body has gotten larger, gaining another 30lbs from shitty foods that you can afford for 1 meal a day, and youre mental health is deteriorating. As you drive home from court, you look at every passing opportunity to end your life; the buildings, a head on collision, maybe a train, or just sail off the bridge at full speed. You decide to just go home and tie a rope around your neck because you don't matter to anyone, and are going to jail in 2 weeks anyway.

No fuckin thanks.

I'll stick to being single, child free, motorcycles, fast cars, good food, a fitness regime, independence and freedom, good mental health, the least amount of stress, the most amount of self respect.

Life is too short to not enjoy yourself. Live in the present, don't worry about the futute, and learn from your past.

Is the fear of "wasting your life" not exactly what makes most man eager to tie the knot with the first woman who doesn't call them a creep? Fear of missing out. And then it turns out that by being afraid that you waste time you do exactly that, and you waste money on top of it.

Seems a big factor in not wasting your life is having low expectations in the first place towards yourself and others, so you can easily overachieve and not get wrapped up with worthless people.

Not being peaceful stable and happy within. There are ppl who are on top of corporate ladder or have tonns of money but still feel miserable. At the end of the day how much peaceful you are within yourself. If you are someone who is stuck in a past failure, or gets affected by someone's opinions etc then you are wasting your life.
