Last night went out with one girl-friend and two of her friends. Night is going well- I'm not applying heavy game, just genuinely enjoying myself. At one point the three girls and I are standing in a group talking and the hot blonde friend looks around and remarks "There are some really manly men in here tonight!" I reply with a laugh and say "There are definitely some good beards at this party" but before I can really finish my statement the blonde's eyes dart back to me and she starts kind of scrambling, saying "Oh you're one of them! You're definitely one! I'm just saying... like... like.. lots of flannel you know? blah blah blah" I'm just listening with an amused look on my face and tell her she's a funny little creature.
Why did she feel the need to reassure me? Was this because she categorized me as insecure or was this her qualifying herself? Or something else? My dgaf was pretty on point last night so I can't imagine why she would feel it necessary to "make me feel better" about being manly.
