For starters, I'm not even that old. I just hit 20. But through my limited, say, 2-3 years worth of dating and socializing experience I have grown to be disgusted of how uncivilized and primal all of this is. Now, a lot of people would argue that "it's in our instincts" and bla bla. Well, killing and maiming people was also a huge part of human society, and it was more rampant than ever in the past. Does that mean we pull out the same justification here, while talking of might is right. It's at the very crux of mordern society to grow happier, healthier and civilized. And, imo, the dating scene of today is belittling the vast spiritual experience of love and turning it into a commodity of instant gratification. It's not a McDonald's burger afterall.

We are forgetting our spiritual and inner self behind and I don't even want to think about how all of this effects the neurology. It's insane. Add social media to the mix and boom, everything is 10x more fucked up. I see people mindlessly having sex and waking up with regrets and just going on about chasing the same thing. Why don't we understand that sex, while having an emotional connect with the person is divine bliss. You bare yourself totally to the next person, and you don't have to care how do you look and feel. It's mesmerizing.

Just to clarify, I am an agnost, eventhough all of this might seem like something religious people would preach. It's just that when I see relationships and intimate bonds being reduced down to an app swipe and a product to be consumed, it hurts somewhere. This has put me under tremendous self questioning. And, I'm not sure but I don't think I'll ever go for a quick hookup in the future. It just feels shallow. Orgasming there feels like eating fast food and trying to run. It's a horrible feeling.

But, at the end it's just my opinion. I'm sure a lot of you will disagree. But, please explain me how is all of this functional and beneficial for human race and mental health in the long run?
