I know exactly what you mean. I live in a small town less than 8k pop. an hour and a half from a major city.
Back when I wanted to date this place was impossible. No place to go and just casually hang out. No opportunity to casually meet.
Where was I going to have a casual coffee date at McDonald's?

Now that I monk mode. I like it hear. Low crime, low noise. Can get everywhere in minutes.

This sounds prophetic until you realize that you're going to be stuck with a shitty job making half the wage you would than a good job in a city. I grew up in low population and love the isolation of rural living, but I won't ever get that unless I can become independently wealthy.
